Fridge / The Division 2

Fridge Brilliance

  • There are boats washed ashore far into the Potomac side of the National Mall. Bit surprising till you put together that A: DC is built on a swamp. B: The American hurricane season would have happened between The Division 1 and 2.
    • The Warlords of New York expansion confirms that a hurricane hit the Eastern Seaboard between the two games.
  • When you destroy a heavy unit's armour, the guy underneath is revealed to be wearing nothing more than a white shirt and loose shorts. Seems like a cute little gag at first, but remember that this game is set in the middle of an American summer - that armour is going to be staggeringly uncomfortable and hot to wear in a full set of clothes!
  • Pres. Ellis getting the codename “Chickenhawk” may actually be a clue to his overall plans if you know anything about American politics: A “chickenhawk” is a politician who advocates hard for war or military action but often has never served themselves.
  • The fact that President Ellis is allied with Black Tusk can also be inferred from two things: the Hyenas are not only treating him as valuable, but also mentioning they have to hand him off to someone else; and, someone equipped them with improbable amount of grenade launchers.
  • The fact that semi-auto only rifles are commonplace make sense as most of the rifles in circulation in gun stores for non-personnel to buy throughout the USA are semi-auto only variants of military-grade rifles.

Fridge Horror

  • Gordon Amherst caused the Green Poison with just some equipment in his apartment. However, it's actually all of the factions fighting over the remains of the United States that made sure things became as bad as they were. The Black Tusks, President Ellis, and Keener all formed factions that made matters much worse for the government's ability to respond. If not for them Let No Crisis Go to Waste, America probably wouldn't have fallen to complete chaos.
  • The Dollar Flu has largely burned itself out by The Division 2. Which means that it lasted roughly as long as a typical flu season. It also means that if the government and society had held on for just a little while longer, it wouldn't have been the collapse of civilization.
  • What were the True Sons planning to do with their own missile?
  • Given how much Green Poison the Outcasts were trying to create, were they planning to finish off all of humanity?
