Spider-Man mentions he has heard of Superman all his life. Well, considering Superman is an older character... and in the Amazing Spider-Man #3 Doc Ock called him “Superman”... But, seriously, Clark is around ten years older than Peter, and in the Pre-Crisis continuity he started out his heroic career in his teenager years. Peter had to be a little boy when Superboy first showed up.
