If Kira hadn’t been kidnapped that very week, Dukat would have presumably actually succeeded in murdering Mika to silence her, leaving him with his trusting flock and a ready-made excuse for any future half-Cardassian babies. Yikes.
Fridge Brilliance: The Pah-wraiths have been known to give people false visions and make them think that they're coming from the Prophets. It may be that the Prophets were the ones who told Dukat to kidnap Kira, under the guise of being the Pah-wraiths, to prevent that exact scenario.
