Fridge / Naomi (2022)

Fridge Brilliance

  • Dee is said to be teaching Naomi boxing, although he's seen doing stick-fighting (often associated with Filipino martial arts, amongst others), and the nunchaku and meditation hint at familiarity with one or more of the East Asian arts. However, boxing is simple, straightforward, and practical for self-defense, meaning that it lays a good foundation for Naomi and will help her protect herself if someone comes after her while her powers are still developing. Once she's got down the basic moves and footwork, he can move on to more advanced and broader disciplines.

Fridge Logic

  • First offense or not, all six kids should have been grounded or at least given curfews from now on by their parents after breaking into the geo lab, but next episode they seem to have snapped back to status quo. And the parents and teachers apparently were fine not getting a straight answer out of them as to why they did it. Also, the fact that Jacob packed "break-in clothes" makes the whole thing look pre-meditated, and with outfits like those, their parents should be wondering if they're all in a gang together.
    • It's possible that all of them did get punished offscreen (though given that Lourdes is implied to have dropped out, most likely her parents either don't care or aren't around). As for Naomi's parents, it's probable they rescinded her punishment when she came clean to them about what she'd been up to.
      • The next episode picks up right afterwards, so their groundings or curfews should still be in place. Yet they're all able to go to an escape room at night.
  • In 1x10, Naomi mentions "Ma and Pa Kent." Is this a universe where Clark's secret identity is known to the public?
    • Superman is, or at least believed to be by the public at large, a fictional character in this universe, including all of his comics existing in-universe. So technically, yes, his secret identity is known to the public.
    • But how does that work with him showing up in the first episode and Dee mentioning that they fought together? I can certainly understand how he could be Shrouded in Myth, but if he's real, wouldn't he want to keep his connection to Clark Kent on the down-low?
    • Possibly in this universe, there is no "Clark Kent," and Superman's alter ego (if he even has one) goes by a different name.
