Fridge Brilliance

  • It seems odd that we would be first introduced to Anxiety before the other new emotions, but it makes sense since Anxiety is what people will feel first when they begin puberty, they start to feel awkward and see the world how it is.
    • Another reason for Anxiety being introduced first is that she's orange, meaning she, Fear, and Disgust complete the set of secondary-colored emotions, complementing Joy, Anger, and Sadness, who represent the three primary colors.
  • Why did we not see the new emotions in the heads of any adults in the first film? Well, there's a thing a lot of adults do known as "bottling up emotions" and "hiding their feelings".
    • Also, everyone develops and feels emotions differently, that's also why Riley's parents are compatible, they're on similar emotional wavelengths due to how their emotions developed.
  • It might seem odd that Embarrassment didn't appear in the first movie, since Riley gets pretty embarrassed about leaving a bad first impression at her new school. But when you remember that Disgust was in charge at that point, suddenly it makes sense. Riley wasn't embarrassed by the mistake — she was disgusted with herself.
  • Why does Anxiety look so out of proportion compared to Anger and Fear? It's shows the unpredictability and erratic nature of anxiety.
  • It sort of makes sense symbolically why Embarrassment would be the one to bottle up the first generation of emotions because when you’re embarrassed, you bottle up uncomfortable feelings.

Fridge Horror

  • In most provinces of Canada, the term "code orange" is an emergency term used in hospitals to describe a disaster, which is fitting for how the Command Center is ransacked in the trailer.
    • In the United States, the term is used to describe a mess of biohazardous material that requires decontamination, such as bodily fluids. No wonder why the other emotions freak out over how much Anxiety causes them to panic!
