    Fridge Brilliance
  • Beside some obvious ones, some of the relationships of the cast in this fanfiction can Call-Back to the characters' original relationships in the original games.
    • Chihiro's relationship with Nekomaru references how DR-1's Chihiro wanted to train under DR-1's Mondo to get stronger.
    • Hiyoko's eventual relationship with Kirumi references DR-2's Hiyoko becoming friends with DR-2's Mahiru.
    • Korekiyo and Himiko becoming friends is ironic as V3's Korekiyo and V3's Himiko are on bad terms as a result of V3's Chapter 3.
    • Himiko becoming friends with Tenko and Mondo can reference to how in the original game, V3's Himiko paired with Tenko and Angie & DR=1's Mondo paired with Kiyotaka and Chihiro.
    • Angie and Akane becoming 'sisters' as a result of how they enjoy fighting each other reference to how Akane and Nekomaru became close for the same reason.
    • Celestia's relationship with "Taeko"/The Ultimate Imposter can be a reference to DR-1's Celestia's odd relationship with another fat character, Hifumi.
    • "Taeko" disguising himself as Teruteru can be an ironic reference to the relationship between the two in DR-2 due to how the Ultimate Impostor was accidentally murdered by Teruteru.
    • Leon's romantic relationship with Sayaka ironically references to how Leon killed Sayaka out of self-defense.
  • Chihiro had different reactions between Nagito and Kuma in their respective roles in causing all the tragedies in the Killing Game. Chihiro was more understanding and empathetic towards the former, but was outright furious towards the latter. These contrasting reactions by Chihiro is important because of the theme of "empathy" in the story. It shows how it is important to be open and understanding towards other people, even does who are dislikable, because there is more to them than it meets the eyes and that they may not be that different from you. However, it is also important to know that there are those who are beyond any form of sympathy because of how cruel and unredeemable they are, and thus shouldn't be forgiven or accepted. It is basically striking a right balance on one's sense of empathy.

    Fridge Horror
  • The murders in the fanfiction reference towards the original games' murders and the characters involved in them.
    • 2nd Murder's Motive: Leon murdered someone because of a motive related to Sayaka. However, while the original version had Leon kill Sayaka because the latter was trying to kill the former, Leon killed someone in order to protect Sayaka's reputation.
    • 3rd Murder's Victim 1: Keebo, the fanfiction's Ultimate Photographer, was killed with a baseball bat. In the original game, the Ultimate Photographer (Mahiru) was also killed with a baseball bat. According to Word of God, this Call-Back was inattention.
    • 3rd Murder's Killer: Toko ended up killing Byakuya as a result of the latter killing an animal while trying to kill the former. This becomes ironic as, in the original game, Toko didn't kill anyone (especially Byakuya) despite having a split personality with a serial killer who kills cute boys she loves.
    • 4th Murder's Victim: Akane resorted to a battle-to-the-death with a strong student in order to save the remaining sick students, particularly Angie, as a result of the motive. In the original game, Akane was against the fact that Gundam and Nekomaru ended up trying to kill each other in a battle-to-the-death of their own as a result of the starvation motive and how it was killing everyone.
    • 4th Murder's Killer: Korekiyo killed Akane (Angie's best friend) with the use of Aikido. This is very ironic as V3's Korekiyo killed the Ultimate Aikido Master, as well as killed Angie herself.
    • 5th Murder's Victim: Kirumi died trying to protect Chihiro and wanting to trust him above ending the Killing Game and potentially saving everyone. This contrast to V3's Kirumi, who died as a result of trying to sacrifice everyone in her class to escape and save everyone in the outside world. V3's Kirumi chose the many over the few, while this fanfiction's Kirumi did the opposite.
    • 5th Murder's Killer:
      • Nagito, as the Ultimate Nurse, killed this version's Ultimate Traditional Dancer (Kirumi) with a slash wound on the neck, tried to use Hiyoko as a hostage, and tried to murder a music-themed Ultimate (Chihiro, the Ultimate Pianist). In Danganronpa 2, its Ultimate Nurse (Mikan) killed Hiyoko the Ultimate Traditional Dancer also with a slash wound on the neck and killed a music-themed Ultimate (Ibuki, the Ultimate Musician).
      • In this fanfiction, Nagito became the "victim" in Chapter 1 and the killer in Chapter 5. In the original game, Nagito tried to kill or get killed in Chapter 1 and tricked someone into killing him in Chapter 5.
  • The Mastermind Taichi has an attitude towards the students like an abusive parent treats kids like they have no respect for adults. This is very ironic as, in DR-Another: Ultra Despair Girls, Taichi was (supposedly) killed by kids who treat adults as demons due to their traumatic experience with their own abusive parents.
