- The short focuses on Constantine's punishment for his role in changing the universe. This is horrific in itself, then it raises an additional question - what happened to Flash, the one who did the actual altering? I.e., is he now facing retribution from the Speed Force?
- The fact that the one glimmer of hope in the absolute bleakness of Apokolips War's ending was cruelly subverted and Constantine is being punished with A Fate Worse Than Death for trying to fix the damage is depressing as all hell on its own, but then you remember, the cosmos itself is the one responsible for crushing what little hope there was. Even worse, Spectre says the second Flashpoint has incurred the universe's wrath, but it seemed to let the first Flashpoint, which led to the grimmer setting, slide. Is there something wrong with the universe on a fundamental level?
- For what is worth, the Spectre implies in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths that this attempt has something to do with the multiverse destroying crisis. Constantine had no way of knowing about that and the universe still let first time travel change slide despite what it led to, but it does seem to atleast have a valid reason to be mad at John and the Flash.
