Fridge Brilliance

  • Joan and Anthea's prudish attitude is due to being pressured in society to act like "proper ladies".
    • Women are stereotyped as "hard to get" and to be abstinent so, presumably under the glaring eyes of Joan's mother, who threatened Sid when they were preparing to leave, the women were just being that.
    • A brief scene of Joan complaining about Sid's leering at the schoolgirls features Anthea mumbling that she wishes they were like that towards them, followed by Joan glaring at her in disugust and her dismissal of the "I'm a woman; I can't help it" variety.
  • Peter's sexually-frustrated nature (hinted when Mr. Muggins asks about his and his wife's sex life) probably makes him the father of the farmer's grandchild. Except the One Dialogue, Two Conversations with the innkeeper was more likely about the young woman giving him the milk last time.
