Fridge Brilliance: We never see the star of the Show Within a Show during the finale...only the chorus line who, as part of the show, are supposed to be backing up and framing the unseen star. An early concept to select a random woman from the audience as the show's star ended up being junked. It makes much more sense for the star to remain unseen...because, for once, the focus is on the chorus line. Just this once, the anonymous chorus is the star of the show!
- Adding some bitter to the sweet, the show ends just as this unseen star is about to appear on stage... because that's the end of the chorus line's time in the spotlight, and no one will be looking at them after that.
