Holy Weapon is also known as Wu xia qi gong zhu (Seven Princesses of Wuxia). This is a 1993 Hong Kong Kung Fu action comedy movie.

After several failed attempts by Japan to invade Ming Dynasty China, a new invasion proves far more successful thanks to a supernaturally powered samurai leading it (Liu Sang or "Super Sword"). A great Chinese swordsman (Mo Kake or "Heavenly Sword") is given the "greatest drug" by Ghost Doctor and defeats Liu Sang, who leaves vowing to return in 3 years. Unfortunately, the drug has detrimental effects and Mo Kake goes insane and is delirious for years.

Three years after the defeat of Liu Sang, Ghost Doctor's protégé, Ng Tung flees his fiancée (Doll) and teams up with To Col Ching (Mo Kake's fiancée Mon Ching Sze disguised as a man), as well as Princes Tin Hueng and her bodyguard Yam Kin Fai and goes looking for adventure. Doll, Mon Ching Sze, Tin Hueng, and Yam Kin Fai team up with Blonde (Ghost Doctor's daughter), and also Spider and Butterfly (defectors from Liu Sang's camp) to be come the Seven Virgins destined to defeat Liu Sang. With Ghost Doctor and Ng Tung, they cure Mo Kake, who trains the seven maidens for the upcoming battle.

Liu Sang captures Tin Hueng breaking up the seven. However, another surprise maiden appears to save the day. ( Ng Tung drinks "feminine wine" that makes him female whenever he's wet.) Together, the new seven virgins are able to defeat Liu Sang, destroying him forever.

Holy Weapon provides examples of:

  • Combining Mecha: Six virgin warriors "combine" into one giant warrior by standing on each other, forming arms legs, torso, and head. This is a flesh and blood warrior, but is assembled and used in the same way as Voltron or other mecha warriors. Later, a seventh warrior is added.

  • 11th-Hour Ranger: Ng Tung is tossed into a lake to transform into a girl to become the needed 7th virgin in the nick of time.

  • Foolish Husband, Responsible Wife: Doll's husband Ng Tung is goofy comic relief through much of the film, only to become the hero in the end. Technically they are only engaged, but refer to each other as husband and wife.

  • Gender Bender: Ghost Doctor creates "Feminine Wine" for Yam Kin Fai (apparently an intersexed woman), warning that if a man drinks even just a drop, he'd become a woman. They then have the male Idiot Hero Ng Tung look after the brew without telling him what it is or what it does. Ng Tung unwittingly drinks the brew, thinking it's a nutritious soup. Then his penis tells him that from now on, whenever his body gets wet, he'll turn into a woman. He'll become a man again when he dries his body. This becomes useful during the final battle, when the Big Bad's Mooks throw Ng Tung into the river as a sacrifice, only for him to emerge fully female, complete with bouncing chest and Girlish Pigtails. Thus, he/she becomes the Seven Virgins' 11th-Hour Ranger (since one of them is trapped in a net throughout the battle).

  • Idiot Hero: Ng Tung bumbles his/her way to saving the day.
