"Playing For Keeps
" is a Kingdom Hearts and The World Ends with You crossover written by Flik Freak.
Neku is killed again (though, this time, it was an accident) and winds up in the Underground.
The fanfic and its sequel provide the following tropes:
- Big Bad: Sho in Playing For Keeps.
- Comically Missing the Point:
- Beat is this in spades. After the battles against Sho and Xosh, Sora mentions his real purpose in Shibuya: Finding the Keyhole. Beat thinks that Shibuya is in a giant box.
- And again in the sequel.
- Heel–Face Turn: The Zoners try to clone Neku and create Xenuk and try to use him for their plan. Xenuk quickly disagrees with them and leaves the group.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Xosh summons some Noise to block out the Music of Shibuya. The Noise however turn on Xosh rather quickly, since the Heartless he brought into the Underground have been depriving them of food.
- The Man Behind the Man: Xosh, Sho's Nobody was behind Sho's revival in Playing For Keeps.
