Discovering Magic
is an The Owl House and Gravity Falls crossover where an older Dipper and Pacifica find their way into the Demon Realm.
- Magical Incantation: Dipper finds a book in the Skull that lets him cast magic via this method.
- Mutually Exclusive Magic: Neither Pacifica or Dipper can use the glyphs Luz does, though the former has a special bracelet that can copy spells and Dipper eventually finds a spellbook that lets him cast spells via the Magical Incantation method. Dipper suspects that for humans using Boiling Isles magic, each can only use one of the types and not the others.
- Parental Abandonment: After Weirdmageddon caused the Northwests to lose a good chunk of their fortune, and things continued to spiral, the elder Northwests just up and left town, leaving their daughter behind.
- Riches to Rags: After her parents left her, Pacifica was left with only half a million in an account that they didn't clear out, and only managed to stay in school because one of the former maids managed to get her a room at the local motel for a reduced rate.
