Drinking Game / Forever (2014)

Go To

Henry

  • Sip whenever Henry dies, two sips if it was because he did something really stupid/inattentive.
  • Sip whenever Henry says "It's a long story," "It's complicated," or "I couldn't agree more!"
  • Sip whenever it's not a suicide, it's murder. Gulp if it's the other way 'round.
  • Sip whenever Henry's watch just happens to fall out of his pocket right before he dies.
    • Two sips if Jo finds it, three when she returns it to him.
  • A small sip whenever Henry is shirtless, a full one if you can clearly see his scar.
    • Two if it's not when he's coming out of the water after just dying.
  • Sip the whole length of Henry's life passing before his eyes when he dies. (Nothing stronger than wine allowed in the final episode!)
  • Sip whenever reference is made to Henry being into BDSM.
  • Sip whenever Henry is in uniform.
  • Sip whenever Henry has an abrasion on his face that lasts the entire rest of the episode.
  • Roll your eyes and take a gulp whenever Henry's colleagues don't notice that an injury has disappeared.
  • Sip whenever a flashback begins or ends.
    • A toast to the poor fourth wall whenever someone catches Henry flashbacking and comments on it.
  • Sip whenever Henry refers to his immortality as a "condition," a healthy swallow in sympathy and/or annoyance (depending on the drinker) when he calls it a "curse."
  • Sip in a salute to hypocrisy whenever Henry declares he's a scientist and a skeptic, despite the fact that he himself breaks every law of physics on a semi-regular basis. Take a shot to egotism if he follows up with declaring that there is no magic except for his own "curse".

Jo Martinez

  • Sip whenever Jo orders a drink, two if Henry orders her a better one.
    • Sip whenever Jo takes a drink from her drink. (A sip only, do not try to match her rate of consumption!)
  • Sip whenever Jo and Henry lock eyes; keep sipping until one of them looks away.
  • Sip whenever Jo tells Henry she's there if he wants to talk.
    • Two if she suggests talking to anyone else.
    • A celebratory quaff whenever Henry actually does reveal something personal to her.
  • Sip whenever Jo gets injured. A toast to them both if Henry is near panic until he's sure she's okay.
  • Sip whenever Jo suggests kicking down a door, two if she picks the lock instead.
  • Sip whenever a guy Jo will later like offers his wrists to her as if for her to slap on handcuffs.
  • Sip in Sean's memory whenever Jo plays with her wedding ring. A sad swallow if she gets out Sean's picture and gazes at it.
    • A happy sip to salute her healing when Jo appears without her ring on the chain around her neck.
  • Sip whenever Jo almost sees Henry die; a sympathetic swallow if she does see him die, but has reason to doubt her senses.

Lucas

  • Sip whenever Lucas tries to make friends or share personal information with Henry.
    • Another sip to commiserate if Henry shoots him down bluntly.
  • Sip whenever Lucas insists they're graphic novels.
  • Sip whenever Henry doesn't get a pop culture reference, two if Lucas tries to explain it and fails utterly.
    • An extra gulp when it references immortals or (unknowingly) Henry's past.
  • Sip whenever Lucas calls it that Henry is about to have an "Ah-ha!" moment. A big celebratory swallow when Lucas gets his turn for the "Ah-ha!" moment.
  • Sip whenever Lucas gets tongue-tied around a pretty girl.
    • Two sips if Henry guesses exactly why Lucas is flustered, and asks if the girl was pretty.

Lieutenant Reece

  • Sip whenever Reece knows everything that goes on in her precinct.
  • Sip whenever Reece plays Shipper on Deck.
  • Sip whenever Reece looks like she's about to chew someone out, and is supportive instead.
  • Sip whenever Reece says no one with an NYPD badge is allowed to do something, then points out that Henry is OCME and she can't tell him what not to do. Another big sip in sympathy if Henry still doesn't get it and needs it spelled out to him that she wants him to do something.

Abigail

  • Sip whenever Abigail wears her classic white nurse's outfit.
  • Sip whenever Abigail points out to Henry that some day she'll be gone, and he'll still be here.
    • Two sips if Henry doesn't want to think about that now.
  • Sip whenever Abigail holds baby Abraham.
  • Sip whenever Henry gazes at Abigail's picture. A sad swallow if it's intercut with Jo gazing at Sean's picture.

Abe

  • Sip whenever Henry acts in an overtly fatherly manner towards present-day Abe.
  • Sip whenever Abe reads the obituaries over breakfast.
  • Sip an especially yummy mixed drink whenever Abe cooks or bakes.
  • Sip whenever Abe wants to carpe diem in an especially dangerous or socially unacceptable way.
  • Sip whenever Abe points out his days are numbered. A sad quaff if Henry doesn't want to talk or think about that fact.
  • Sip whenever Abe refers to his time in Vietnam or his student protest days.

Adam

  • Sip whenever Henry gets an anonymous phone call during the first two episodes.
  • Sip in agreement when Henry rolls his eyes at Adam's choice of name.
  • Sip whenever Henry expresses doubt about Adam being immortal.
  • Gulp whenever Adam kills Henry. Twice if Adam sees it as doing Henry a favor.
  • Sip whenever Dr. Farber does something very British.
  • Sip whenever Dr. Farber is probably lying to Henry.
  • Sip whenever Adam kills himself, two if it's to get away from the police, three if it freaks out Henry.
  • Sip whenever Adam claims to have been a good and decent man once, twice if he then blames his immortality for what he's become.
  • A toast of grudging respect whenever Adam plays Henry expertly.
  • A hopeful toast whenever Adam actually does something nice.

Hanson

  • Sip whenever Hanson claims he doesn't want to go home to his wife and kids.
  • Sip whenever he refers to his kids doing something (self-)destructive, twice if they do it on-screen.
  • Sip whenever Hanson refers to his days playing in a rock band. A toast when Hanson gets to show off his pipes on-screen!
  • Sip whenever Hanson rushes in with new information he just uncovered with conventional policework, only to find Henry already figured it out.
    • A toast and a cheer when Hanson actually presents info Henry didn't know.
