Drinking Game / Dead Cells

Note: The following rules apply to a Normal Run or a Custom Run with achievements enabled.

General

  • Drink whenever you gracefully dive into a bed of spikes.
  • Drink if you trade blows with an enemy and kill it, and you couldn't rally the lost HP there are no enemies around.
  • Drink if you failed a parry because the enemy was Slowed or hitstunned and it threw off your timing.
  • Drink if you took damage while you were stunned from falling too high.
  • Drink for every 2 stages you go without finding a single Secret Tile.
  • Drink if you died while holding a rare blueprint, and you didn't use Hunter's Grenade to drop it.
  • Drink if you lose more than 150 Cells (unless you unlocked everything).
  • Drink if an item you found in a Chest is the same as something you already have and it's worse.
  • Drink if you find a lower quality item when you have at least 90% chance on finding the highest quality item.
  • Drink if you find a Legendary item before the first boss.
    • Drink twice if you find a Legendary item that's a base you disabled in Custom Run.
  • From third stage onwards, drink for every 3 Pendants you find that doesn't have any of your primary stat.
  • Drink if you find food in a lore room.
  • Cursed Chest:
    • Drink if you found a Cursed Chest when most of the enemies were dead.
    • Drink if you enter the next area while cursed. Drink again if you go into a boss room.
    • Drink if a Cursed Chest spawned in Prisoner's Quarters. (1% chance!)
    • Take a shot if a Cursed Chest drops a colorless Cursed Sword.
    • Take a shot if you are a coward and didn't open the Cursed Chest in Prison Depths or Corrupted Prison, the entire reason for entering these biomes.
  • Drink if you died from the curse (not from Cursed Sword). Take a shot instead if the curse was from food you ate while you had Acceptance.
  • Drink if you died while holding a Cursed Sword. Drink again if it was in your backpack.
  • Take a shot if you break a Golden Door by accident.
  • Drink if you find a Corrupted Artifact. Take another drink if you don't pick it up it.
  • Take a celebratory shot if a Fragment of the Philosopher's Stone drops.
  • Take a shot if you died inside a Challenge Rift.
  • Drink for every 3 stages you go without replacing any equipped item (not including backpack).
  • Drink if you find/roll an item with at least 3 different "fires an arrow/bomb" mods.
  • Drink if you find/roll an item with a Quad Damage mod... and you take it.
  • Drink once per stage if Malaise reaches at least 70%.
  • Drink if beating a boss didn't fully clear your Malaise gauge.
  • Drink 4 times when Ygdar Orus Li Ox triggers. Reduce by 1 for each boss you've defeated.
  • Drink if you find a large food while you have Dead Inside.
  • Drink if Masochism actually prevented you from dying.
  • Take a shot if you somehow died while Disengagement was off cooldown.

Stages

  • Prisoner's Quarters:
    • Drink if the last room you searched before proccing Explorer's Rune was the Hunter's Grenade room.
  • Toxic Sewers/Ancient Sewers:
    • Drink if you lose a 30+ kill streak because you stepped in toxic sewer water.
  • Morass of the Banished:
    • Drink if you sacrificed the Mushroom Boi.
  • Slumbering Sanctuary:
    • Drink if you failed the Emergency Door challenge.
  • Fractured Shrines:
    • Drink if an enemy or trap knocks you off into a pit.
    • Drink if you aggro'd the Stone Warden that wasn't guarding a door.
  • Forgotten Sepulcher:
    • Drink if you lost more than 25% of your health at once from the darkness.
    • Drink if you bought the Night Light.
  • Undying Shores:
    • Take a shot if you guessed the correct Rune door containing the Cocoon blueprint correctly.
  • Derelict Distillery:
    • Drink if you got hit by a barrel that an enemy reflected. This also applies to the Barrel Launcher in any stage.
    • Drink if the very last dead end you search contains the Distillery Key.
  • The Bank:
    • Take a sip for every 2000 Gold you borrow (even if you pay it back). Convert it to a shot for every 10000 Gold instead.
    • Take another sip for every 2000 Gold you don't pay back at the end of the stage. Same sip-to-shot conversion applies.

Enemies

  • Arbiter: Drink if you took damage from its posthumous bomb.
  • Apostate: Drink if you got hit by something because its wall projection got in the way.
  • Automaton: Drink if you were hit by the same Automaton that teleported away. Drink again if it spawned from Malaise.
  • Cannibal: Drink if you got hit by a bomb that it dropped right before it died.
  • Caster: Drink if it hits you with its fireball, then teleports away before you could hit it back.
  • Catcher: Drink if you get caught by its grappling hook and you couldn't roll out of the swipe attack on time.
  • Cleaver: Take a shot if its axe gets caught in a wall and it hits you way more times than it normally would.
  • Corpse Juice: Drink if you get hit by one.
  • Dark Tracker: Take a shot if you get hit by its extremely slow, extremely telegraphed backstab attack.
  • Demolisher: Drink if you got hit by crossbow melee attack while you were behind it.
  • Golem: Drink if you accidentally aggro one without meaning to.
  • Lacerator: Take a shot if a single spin decimated more than half your health.
  • Gold Gorger: Drink when you have to fight a fully transformed Gold Gorger.
  • Guardian Knight: Take a shot if you got hit by its incredibly slow overhead swing.
  • Lancer: Drink if you get hit by one while on a ladder.
  • Librarian: Drink if you couldn't kill it before it repeats its attack pattern.
  • Living Barrel: Drink if 3 of more of these are chasing you at the same time.
  • Oven Knight: Drink if you got hit by its shield bash and then you get hit by other enemies while you were stunned.
  • Pirate Captain: Drink if you get hit by the cannonball's explosion without actually getting hit by the cannonball.
  • Protector: Drink if its shield completely blocks all damage from a cooldown skill.
  • Rampager: Take a shot if you get hit by all four of its claw swipe attack.
  • Royal Guard: Drink if you have to find one in a narrow hallway with no nearby platforms.
  • Shieldbearer: Drink if got hit by anything while you were hitstunned from hitting its shield.
  • Slammer: Drink if you get hit by its ground slam attack twice in a row... after you rolled behind the first one.
  • Slasher: Drink if you couldn't stun it before it hits you with its wave attack on the third slash.
  • Skeleton: Drink if you get hit by one while it was Rooted or Stunned (which it is immune to).
  • Thorny: Drink if you hit its back with a melee weapon and you take damage.
  • Undead Archer: Drink if you actually managed to get hit by one of its arrows.
  • Elites (in general):
    • Drink if you get hit by the square "electric cage".
    • Drink it respawns its crystal force field... twice.
    • Drink if you get hit by an Elite while it was invisible.
    • Drink twice if a double Elite does a team combo on you.

Bosses

  • The Concierge:
    • Drink if you get hit by its Lacerating Aura after rolling behind it.
  • Conjuntivius:
    • Drink if the summoned tentacles dealt more damage to you than Conjuntivius did.
    • Drink if it used its "bullet hell" attack more than once.
  • Mama Tick:
    • Drink if you got hit more than once by its rapid tentacle impale attack. Drink again if it was the only attack you got hit by.
  • Time Keeper:
    • Drink if you got hit by her shurikens 4 or more times in a row.
    • Drink if you get hit by the falling swords.
  • The Giant:
    • Drink if the Giant uses both his super-charged fist attacks.
    • Drink if you get hit by a falling stalagmite while his eye was exposed and knocks you off his hand.
    • Drink if you get somehow manage to escape his laser eye prison, but get hit by his hand bullets anyway (Tip: use Assault Shield).
  • The Scarecrow:
    • Drink if you got hit airborne after bouncing off a mushroom.
    • Drink if you got hit right after a Jerkshroom hit you.
    • Drink if the Scarecrow uses his scythe throw move really close to the ground.
    • Drink if you took several hits from the watering can move.
  • The Hand of the King:
    • Drink if you took damage from the enemies that the Hand of the King summons.
    • Drink twice if you get hit by the banner explosion.
    • Drink every other time you get hit by That One Move where it does an extremely quick stab before the Telluric Slam.
  • The Servants:
    • Drink if you take fall damage while climbing the Lighthouse.
    • Drink if you get combo'd for more than half your health by multiple Servants.
    • Drink if you have enter the fight with no way to deal with Kleio's spinning attack (no shield, ranged attacks, etc.).
  • The Queen:
    • Drink if you trigger her enrage mechanic.
    • Take a shot if you died without the Queen giving you a second chance.
    • Take a shot if you took less damage overall from the Queen boss fight than the Servants.
  • The Collector:
    • Drink if you took damage during the phase where enemies are summoned.
    • Drink whenever you take damage from any stage hazard.
    • Drink the whole bottle if you grabbed the Panacea but died before you could drink it.
