This roleplay contains examples of:
- Aborted Arc: Donovan was going to have an arc about getting past his religious-based anti-LGBTQ~ bigotry, but this was cut short partway through the first scene due to discomfort from other players, and it is assumed that he got over it "offscreen".
- An Ice Person: Icy, as the name may imply, has an affinity for cold and the ability to control ice.
- Establishing Character Moment: Icy is found napping in the kitchen freezer, befitting his status as An Ice Person.
- Exact Words: In chapter 4, Hallie assures Tsukiko that they didn't murder Bishop, and they say so again repeatedly throughout the trial. In fact, Hallie murdered Anirudh by burning him to death — Bishop's death in the same fire happened entirely without Hallie's knowledge or intent.
- Implausible Deniability: During the first motive, no matter what was said or shown, Tsukiko insisted the kidnapped loved ones were simply paid actors.
- Murder by Mistake: When Hallie murders Anirudh by setting the pyrotech lab on fire, they accidentally catch Bishop Reily in the blaze, not even aware the other party is there until the body is found.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Icy is only known by his nickname. It's implied his real name is 'taboo' in some way
- The Speechless: One of the hosts, Machigai, is shown to never speak and instead uses her mobile to speak to other hosts and the cast
- Thought-Aversion Failure: In the first chapter, at Okashi's suggestion, Hallie tries to forget for a moment that her missing father just turned up kidnapped by the masterminds as the chapter's motive. She's not very good at this; even considering the idea of throwing herself into cleaning the disaster-area of a kitchen as a distraction only reminds her of the situation.
