Characters introduced in Amphibia Abridged

Calamity Trio

    Anne Boonchuy
"Yep, this was my life. Before everything changed. Part of me still wishes I could go back to the days where all I had to worry about was writing an essay figuring out who I was. But you guys seem to have been enjoying this story I’ve been telling you all so far. You wanna find out how it ends? Yeah, me too."
A 13-year-old Thai-American girl who finds a music box that leads her and her friends to Amphibia. She must adjust to her new life and face the ups-and-downs of Amphibia while trying to find a way to get back home. She is associated with the blue gem, representing heart, on the Calamity Box.
  • Action Girl: Just like the original series, Anne isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty when the chips are down.
  • Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: The Beauty to Sasha’s Brawn and Marcy’s Brain.
    Sasha Waybright
"What I do best… being an a**hole!"
Anne’s arch-rival, the leader of the Toad Resistance and a massive bitch to almost everyone.
  • Adaptational Badass: Taking over Newtopia was already a fairly impressive feat for a girl her age. But taking over Newtopia with no resources or supplies whatsoever? Extremely impressive.
  • Adaptational Dumbass: Downplayed a fair bit, considering how she easily manipulated Marcy and Anne and took over Newtopia with zero resources. But still, she’s thinks that she’s unable to get a job because she’s too pretty to work.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: With Grime in the prequel series, though she’s far more proactive than him. Before Andrias takes the reigns that is.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: For the first two episodes, she serves as the Big Bad, with her usurpation of Newtopia serving as the biggest threat at the time. Once that’s dealt with, her threat is instantly pushed to the wayside once Andrias reveals his true colours.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: She is a master manipulator who took over a kingdom within minutes, a professional sword-fighter and a surprisingly effective military leader. Yet, she doesn’t want to apply herself to a basic 9-to-5 job in order to make enough money to buy Bagel Bites because she’s “too pretty to work”.
    Marcy Wu
"It brings me comfort."
Anne’s other best friend, who sent her and Sasha to Amphibia in order to live out a Mine Craft SMP. She’s also The Core’s host.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Not necessarily villainy in a sense, but she shows far more of a personal grudge towards Andrias since he, y’know, stabbed her and nearly killed her friends. But, since she’s stuck in The Core’s mind, she names animals in a game after him and punching them.
  • Living with the Villain: Since her and The Core’s relationship is far more fleshed out here than the original, Marcy spends most of her time speaking with it and playing games inside it’s mindscape.
  • Unwitting Pawn: To The Core, due to her being the host whilst having far more interactions with it, albeit in the mindscape of The Core. They even act like best buds, bonding over how much Andrias’ sucks as a person!
