Argo was a former SAO beta tester who got trapped in SAO's death game upon launch. She was the information broker behind the SAO guides. She was also the one responsible behind the picture taken of Asuna within the World Tree Cage.

• Doing Research: She's invited to do research at Tristain Magical Academy's Magical Library.

Klein (Tsuboi Ryoutarou)

A friend of Kirito's. Guild leader of the Fuurinkazan both in SAO and in Alfheim Online and a Sub Commander of the Yggdrasil Knights.

Players That Were Trapped Atop the World Tree

Asuna (Yuki/Kirigaya Asuna)

Asuna the Flash, Queen Titania

Kirito's wife and former Vice Commander of the defunct Knights of Blood in SAO. In combat Asuna prefers an extremely high speed rapier style and is known to be an unsurpassed swordswoman.

• Wetware Body: During the Transition, due to her player account being tied to Alfheim Online's GM programing AI, she is over powered by Titania and loses control of her body, thus becoming Titania's host.
• Chef of Iron: It's brought up by Kirito on occasion how different Titania and Asuna are to each other when it comes to their care for food.
• The Face: Asuna is said to have been a people person and strong leader in SAO. This is used as a great contrasting trait and foil between Asuna and Titania, and it gives Kirito and his friends a hint that something is not right when they first interact with her.
• Damsel out of Distress: Asuna manages to fight back against Titania's control. This wares the AI down a lot to the point of wanting an out.
• Possession Burnout: Asuna's internal struggle against Titania leads to fatigue and stress because of their nightly battles.

Nishida

Is the old fisherman Kirito and Asuna encounter on 23rd floor of Aincrad during their honey moon in SAO. He's a Networker IRL and a fisherman in SAO. He's one of the few people who enjoyed living his virtual life in SAO. He's also the only SAO survivor atop the world tree that wasn't put on life support by Titania. This is done because Titania thought his experience on the technical side of Virtual Games would prove useful.

Arguile

Sub Commander of the Yggdrasil Knights, Hiraga Saito

Was a former member of SAO's Knights of Blood. He was also a supporter of Asuna the Flash, and he was among one of the few SAO survivors from the World Tree to give Kirito his full support.
