Awesome / Mashle: Magic and Muscles

Go To

  • Mash coming in to save his foster parent against the magic police who were coming after him. All with just his hands against their magic.
  • The headmaster decides to test Mash by placing his father's soul into a voodoo doll placed under a descending lance that Mash can't break. Mash instead pierces his hands under the lance and vows to outlast the spell by stamina alone, impressing the headmaster and earning him a spot in the academy.
  • Mash vs Abyss, a student that can manipulate speed. When Abyss uses his magic to speed himself up and slow Mash down, Mash uses the spell against him by pinning Abyss's foot with his own to pummel him.
  • Mash vs Abel, a student that can control puppets and turn people into them. After the opening shots, Abel puppets Finn to fight Mash, but he avoids fighting back and cuts off the strings of several puppets. This prompts Abel to turn Mash into a puppet...which Mash breaks out of twice; the first time was out of pure reflex when Abel mistakenly took Mash's cream puff, and the second time Mash deliberately raised an arm so that when one side began to turn into a puppet he could use his other hand to rip out the strings.
  • Mash vs Carpaccio. Carpaccio has both magic that redirects pain to other people in the form of a statue and a wand that makes him immune to pain. Mash pummels Carpaccio despite the magic reflecting his punches back to him to the point that the statue begins to crack. When the statue goes on the offensive in addition to Carpaccio stabbing himself/Mash, Mash brings out his new "wand" and reforms it into a tennis racket and proceeds to not only dodge the statue's attack but also swing a ball into its face like a wall rally.
    • Props to Finn, who manages to hang onto his team's remaining crystal despite being outclassed by Carpaccio.
  • When Innocent Zero attains a god-like form and every other mage bows to him in fear, Mash already prepared an attack but is unable to get close to him. Thankfully, the other students that Mash fought before join him to get him close and inconvenience Innocent Zero...but the god slows down time to a halt just as Mash reaches him. He didn't anticipate that Mash had already flicked his finger into him in the 0.1 seconds it took to cast the spell...
    • So how does Mash beat Innocent Zero's Timez Rewind, a spell that resets time and allows Zero to defeat even the strongest mages? Easily. Innocent Zero vows to go to his god form in the beginning for next reset...and Mash beats him again. Innocent Zero decides to sic all the brothers on Mash...and Mash beats him and the brothers. And. Every. Single. Time. Zero. Resets. Mash. Defeats. Him. It gets to to point that Innocent Zero gives up casting that spell, thinking that immortality is meaningless if it means getting an endless string of pummeling.
    • Despite getting defeated, this does not stop Innocent Zero's other spell from descending, so Mash would either have to sacrifice himself or abandon the nation. Mash decides to go for a swim...and push the entire nation out of the spell's way. He even borrows a staff to blow away the resulting tidal wave, causing the stoic dark lord to gain a derp face.
