• When the heavy rain starts to cause the rails to sink into the mud as Thomas, Nia, and Ace travel through the Amazon, the two steam engines put every ounce of steam they've got into getting out of there before the rails sink complete and leave them stranded, considering that they were being encouraged by the terrified and frightened Troublesome Trucks.
  • Then when the bridge they are crossing collapses and the last Troublesome Truck is in danger of being washed away, Thomas and Nia use everything they've got to pull the truck back onto the rails and off the bridge before it gives way completely.
• After Thomas ends up suffering a nasty derailment thanks to listening to Ace and splitting off from Nia, and having to spend a whole night without his crew as they and Ace's driver left on Beau to get help, the next day, Beau returns with a posse of cowboys and their horses to help get Thomas and his trucks back on the rails, load the trucks back up with their coffee shipment, and get Ace loaded back up on one of the flatbeds as well.
• Thomas risking his own life and that of his driver and fireman to save Nia from falling off the Himalayan cliff edge, all because he felt horrible about being tricked by Ace and making Nia believe he wasn't her friend after everything they went through together before that during Thomas' worldwide trip.
  • Then, when it looks like Thomas is about to slip off the rails and he and Nia are going to plunge over the cliff and be lost in the Himalayan snow, possibly forever, Yong Bao arrives just in time to keep Thomas on the tracks and help him save Nia, proving that his earlier participation in The Great Railway Show in the Best Decorated Engine Award hid his true strength.
