No signal along the Rip Grande, where I spent most of the day. Dinner was decent, vegetarian pasta, followed by a chocolate peanut butter pie. Rio Grande is a lot smaller in places than I expected, though the one bridge we crossed was huge.
We've just pulled into San Antonio for the night. I got some fresh air, a bit nippy out, but as it turns out, my thermal pajamas work really well.
I'm lying in bed, I think I might make an early night of it.
My room does have a power outlet. It says "razor only" but the attendant said to ignore that.
In hindsight, I have to wonder if a door would work better on the showers. The towels are surprisingly absorbent.
I have to say, springing for the roomette was probably worth it; I can't imagine not showering for three days. Just wish there was a better toilet available. I'm also thinking, if this were a bullet train, I'd probably be in New York by now.
Also, when I think about it, there's a lot of people on this train. I think all the roomettes are booked, and the coach cars top floors seemed pretty full.
I figure I'll read a bit of John Carter before going to sleep.
