The battle with Count Logan begins in earnest, as Terra can only watch.
A word about the animation. If you've been watching, you'll likely have noticed that most of the "fight scenes" consist of the villains repeatedly doing the same attacks, wreaking havoc on the heroes and their surroundings. Here, the author's not able to take those shortcuts, and his incompetence as an animator becomes painfully obvious as the poorly drawn pictures look worse in motion.
Some highlights, which look even worse than they sound.
- Robin and Count Logan leap at each other in what looks like a Single-Stroke Battle, only for Count Logan to punch Robin, causing him to halt, turn upside-down and tumble to the floor.
- Count Logan doing flips off the ground, and elbowing Cyborg away.
- Count Logan doing various hand to hand strikes on a few encroaching heroes. Elastigirl doesn't so much as flinch when she takes the first blow.
- Mento getting hit by his own cut and pasted white energy blast.
- Raven getting blasted backwards by dark energy three times in rapid succession, with Count Logan evidently enjoying it. Her clothes are fine when she hits the pillar, but are horribly torn when she slides to the floor.
To sum it up, as the heroes get beaten, Terra realizes that she's the only one who can do something. After Raven gets taken down, Copy Cat, noticing that hatred has made Count Logan very strong, orders everyone still standing to attack, but Mykan falls back on his old tricks, and with a large explosion, everyone is defeated. Count Logan lets off an Evil Laugh and prepares to enact his vengeance, starting with Robin.
But before he can do so, a blast of white light blows him away. His attacker turns out to be Terra, wielding the Light Prognosticus, and he lets off a ripped off Badass Boast from somewhere, still in the throes of hatred. Terra then calls upon the power of the Light Prognosticus, changing from her school uniform into her costume, and declares that she will save him. Count Logan says that he's no longer Beast Boy, and prepares to do what he must.
The clash of the two tomes begins, and for Terra, it's more personal than that; it's said that Beast Boy is "the guy she loved."
Here's some highlights from the ensuing battle,
- Terra and Count Logan have the same clash as Count Logan did with Robin, only it ends with a Cross Counter.
- Terra and Count Logan exchange blasts of light and dark energy, with the narration noting that Terra has new powers in addition to her stronger than ever geokinesis.
- Recycled footage of Count Logan and Terra struggling in close quarters combat.
- As Count Logan prepares to hit Terra with everything he has, Terra prepares to respond in kind, resulting in a horribly animated Beam-O-War. Count Logan is the loser, and declares that no one can possibly match the Dark Prognosticus before being blown away and breaking his mask.
Count Logan then curses Terra before collapsing, defeated.
