Prologue: Press Start to Begin Liveblogging

Hello, World!

Greetings, fellow console warriors! I'm Willy Four Eyes, and you might remember me from my liveblog of Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome and...not much else, really. Starting today, I'm gonna play through Hyperdimension Neptunia (a.k.a. Hyperdimension Game Neptune), an Eastern-styled RPG about...well, it's an analogue for the Console Wars, except the consoles and certain game companies are represented by cute girls. The game was published and developed by Idea Factory and Compile Heart, whose work can also be seen in Cross Edge, the Record Of Agarest War games, and Trinity Universe* . Nippon Ichi Software published this game (and will also publish and localize the sequel, due in 2012) in North America.

This Game Contains DLC

There are downloadable contents for this game, some of it free (optional side missions), and most of it paid (costumes, stat boosters, extra characters, etc.) I didn't install all of the DLC onto my game, because downloading them all would cost me more than I paid for the game itself. I will, however, be using the free dungeon packs, all of the level cap packs (which boosts the maximum level from 99 to 999 - a necessity to survive a lot of the optional dungeons), the unlock keys to make Gust and Nisa playable, and scenarios and events for Red and 5pb that aren't part of the main story, but should hopefully prove interesting and/or amusing.

Side-stories and skits will be tagged with (skit), while missions and other scenarios only obtainable through DLC will also be labeled appropriately.

My plan is to play through the main story to completion on Normal difficulty, and time and sanity permitting, do some of the higher-end dungeons afterward.

An interesting game that I've had my eye on for a while, and an enthralling liveblogger whose works I've enjoyed in the past...for a lack of better words, it's two good tastes that go great together. Best of luck on your quest, Willy, and know that I'll be supporting you all the way.

I like the fact that she just entered "Tutorial Dungeon" on Goog—er, "DungleMaps" and one popped up. Awesome.

Theoretically, you should be able to use it to find anything, so I don't think tutorial dungeons would totally be out of the question...
