* SampledUp: Casey Siemaszko's "you can't be any geek off the street, gotta be handy with the steel, earn your keep" lines are much more recognizable from Music/{{Warren G}} and Music/NateDogg's '90s rap hit "Regulate" than from this movie.

Fix typo: sicking->siccing

* MoralEventHorizon: Murphy has two of these with the first being that he's keeping Yen Sun as a SexSlave for her family ruining some of his shirts. The second is when Chavez describes the massacre of his people via Murphy starving them with rotted meat followed by sicking the US army on them. By contrast, killing Tunstall is almost quaint.

* CaliforniaDoubling: Averted, the movie takes place in New Mexico and was filmed there. However it was filmed about 150 miles north of the actual Lincoln County, but the two areas look similar.

Approved by the thread.

Added DiffLines:

* CompleteMonster: Lawrence Murphy is a corrupt rancher has John Tunstall murdered to seize control of the local ranching community. Responsible for the slaughter of José Chavez y Chavez's people on their reservation by violating his contract to feed them by sending only rotten meat and [[FrameUp framing them]] for the "uprising" after, Murphy also took the daughter of a Chinese family as a SexSlave and prostitute for their debts. Attempting to have the "Regulators" slaughtered, Murphy even has an ally of theirs gunned down [[DisproportionateRetribution simply for cheering them on]].

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Is Billy a PsychoForHire using the death of Tunstall to indulge in a bunch of barely-justified ultraviolence or is he motivated by a RoaringRampageOfRevenge for someone who saved him from the noose?

Don't put Headscratcher entries on YMMV pages.

* Headscratcher : After they jumped the cliff and their horses fell, how did they get them to stand up again? Anyone who knows horses knows how difficult that is.

Added DiffLines:

* CriticalResearchFailure: John Kinney and Lawrence Murphy did not die as is depicted in the final battle at the McSween house. Kinney was shot in the face by a bullet from Billy the Kid, but he survived and lived another 40 years after the event. Murphy was already sick from cancer at the time of the Lincoln County War, and died a few months after the Battle of Lincoln.
