This is an American Cartoon generally disliked in its home country but popular elsewhere, hence its less Americans Hate Tingle and more Germans Love David Hasselhoff

* AmericansHateTingle: The show is only truly reviled in the United States, not helped by a number of American animation reviewers [[ReviewsAreTheGospel negatively covering it]]. However, in other countries such as Germany, Spain, Italy or its native France, it is considered a mild CultClassic with a lot of nostalgic appeal.

* AudienceAlienatingPremise: The show attempted to hit the renewed interest in classic animation by doing a show dedicated to and named after Tex Avery, one of the medium's biggest early innovators. Unfortunately, it backfired, because doing a show named after a man who had been dead for seventeen years couldn't help but look like a ghoulish attempt to piggyback off his legacy, and immediately placed it in comparison with all manner of classic cartoons that it bore little resemblance to. Quite tellingly, the show only really saw success in territories where Tex Avery was less known.

* NeverLiveItDown: The show's mere existence, its attempt to use Tex Avery's legacy as a brand much like what had been done with Creator/WaltDisney for decades and how little the cartoons themselves lived up to it remain controversial in animation fan circles to this day, not helped by the skeevy, forceful way the creators attempted to get Avery's estate to allow them to use his name.

* OvershadowedByControversy: Near ''every'' complaint about this show is less about its quality and more about the stigma of using Tex Avery's name for the title of the show and Mascot character. Not helped at all when it came to light that the producers were rather forceful about trying to get the name from Avery's estate which, admittedly, was a rather skeezy move on their part.
