Stewart had been playing Mike for three years by the time this film was released.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Mai Kwei, the resident LadyOfWar, and the only member of the Hsi family besides Ching to get any individual spotlight. Being played by Shaw studios darkhorse Creator/ShihSzu certainly helps.

* NarmCharm: [[spoiler: The twin brothers die right after one of them gets his hand chopped off, but the subsequent moment of them holding each other's hands as they die make the scene work.]]
* OneSceneWonder: Dracula actually, who only appears at the beginning and the end. John Forbes-Robertson actually makes quite the impression in the role.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Dracula's presence in the movie is viewed as almost entirely pointless and redundant, which is a shame given how scary he can be during his brief screen time.

** [[spoiler: Ching discovers that Vanessa has been turned into a vampire, and he must kill her, impaling her on a nearby pole. On seeing the bites on her neck, and remembering that she has bitten him, he must kill himself before he turns and does so on the same pole. He dies on top of Vanessa]].
** [[spoiler: The twins are killed by the vampires and die HoldingHands]].

** Aside from Ching and Mai Kwei, the rest of the Hsi siblings get no characterization beyond what weapons they use.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: [[spoiler: Vanessa becomes a vampire and is killed near instantly by Ching, when arguably she could have been the one to kidnap Mai Kwei and provide a more exciting fight in the climax]].

** The last golden vampire is taken in the back and falls into a vat of his victim's blood as he slowly dissolves. After he [[spoiler:gleefully killed the twins and kidnapped Mai in an effort to make her one last sacrifice]], he's just as easy to hate as the penultimate vampire.

* CatharsisFactor:
** The penultimate golden vampire being cornered by a sword of villagers, impaled, and then beaten with farming equipment as his body dissolves is quite satisfying after watching how he and his brethren tormented and murdered the villagers and how [[spoiler:that vampire cruelly turned Vanessa into a vampire seconds earlier.]]

* CompleteMonster: Count {{Dracula}} himself kills and possesses the body of the Seven Golden Vampire priest Kah, setting about to raise an army of the undead. Kidnapping numerous women to be drained of blood as sacrifices, Dracula kills those who come close to his plans and comes into conflict with Professor Van Helsing. Finally pursuing him to a rural village, Dracula has it massacred with intent to sweep across the world with his undead army, killing and enslaving all in his path.

* {{Narm}}: In the ending, Dracula reveals himself, gets in two pimp slaps at Van Helsing, who in turn defeats him immediately with a well placed spear. After all the kung fu extragavanza, it comes of comically anti-climactic.
