"Idiot Plot" is now Flame Bait.

* IdiotPlot: Much of the episode's drama relies on this, especially the idea of Barry breaking into the [=DeVoe=]'s home in civilian attire (with the only thing covering his head being a hoodie) rather than putting on the Flash costume. Same goes for [=DeVoe=] revealing himself to Barry for absolutely no understandable reason other than to indulge in EvilGloating. Lastly, Barry could have been more sure of his target from the beginning by either having Cisco vibe the Samuroid's helmet after the coffee cup vibe failed or simply asking Ralph if the guy he spoke with over the phone had a South African accent and a deep voice [[note]]unless [=DeVoe=] was disguising his voice over the phone, which is possible[[/note]].

* InternetBackdraft: A lot of people were not happy to hear Wally fought Starro the Conqueror, aka the very first villain the Franchise/JusticeLeagueOfAmerica ever fought, by himself, ''off camera''.

* WinBackTheCrowd: Many fans consider this to easily be the best episode so far of an otherwise underwhelming season. This is particularly impressive since there's no fighting at all in the episode.

The epsiode just came out so there can't be a Broken Base just yet. There needs to be a long term and sustained conflict. This is not that and is a knee jerk reaction so is being cut via Broken Base cleanup thread.

* BrokenBase: Most viewers loved this episode for how it fleshes out Devoe with his AlasPoorVillain backstory and the way he's able to outsmart Team Flash. However, there are still going to be those who criticize the episode for Team Flash basically holding the IdiotBall for most of the episode and the way the episode is basically playing second fiddle to the CrisisCrossover event ''Series/CrisisOnEarthX'' (with Barry once again not suiting up for the sake of saving up the CGI budget, the constant reminder of Barry and Iris getting married the following week, and Barry getting a two-week suspension from the police force that just happens to coincide with this event).
