** The use of [[WereStillRelevantDammit modern music and memes in trailers and posters]] has put off a lot of older fans. While not completely absent, the film itself ultimately downplays this.
** The source material based animation has also been criticized (mostly by fans of the [[Film/TheAddamsFamily live action Addams movies]]) for being too ugly.

* UncannyValley: While the designs of the established characters are adapted very faithfully from the source material, this more exaggerated art style doesn't translate as well to the film's [[CanonForeigner original human characters]]. This is particularly egregious with Wednesday's friend Parker, who has huge lips, no chin and a body like a toothpick, which makes her [[{{Irony}} by far the more weird-looking of the two]].

* AudienceColoringAdaptation: The fact that the live-action Addams Family films are this has caused this film to suffer criticism directed towards the character designs, which are more based on the original comics (and thus "ugly" in the eyes of fans who are more used to Creator/RaulJulia and Creator/AnjelicaHuston playing the characters).

* AndYouThoughtItWouldFail: Many people had their doubts about the film's chances, but while it never actually set the box office on fire, it also proved to have remarkable staying power, remaining in the top five for months.

* LesYay: It's easy to read Wednesday and Parker as having a budding attraction to each other.

Even with Itt's [[TheUnintelligible method of speaking]] It's kinda difficult to not tell that it's him with getting billing in the opening and Itt's entrance to the gathering by gaudy limousine with "Drop It Like It's Hot" blaring out, dressed exactly as how Snoop Dogg would dress most days. ** This isn't the first ''Addams Family'' movie to incorporate modern music in its soundtrack. The first two live action movies have rap songs (which Cousin Itt--voiced here by Music/SnoopDogg--also had a taste for) and the third has an R&B song.

* MisaimedFandom: A film about accepting those different from you and not forcing them to conform to your standards has received complaints from fans about how the character designs are different and don't match the live-actions portrayals. Go figure.
