This can likely be attributed to the fact that, with the exception of Jaune, Carmen and Richard, and Pump's parents, almost none of the characters are in canon relationships. Popular ships include John x Jack, Kevin x Frank, Kevin x Streber (which may or may not be canon), various forms of a Hatzgang ship, Roy x Susie, and Robert x Susie. Interestingly, shipping [[ToyShip Skid x Pump]] is a surprisingly controversial subject, as many view it as inappropriate due to their young age and prefer to see them as completely platonic.

For a long while, Pump and Susie's parents spent [[GoodParents all the time in the world with them]], including going out with them on Halloween under large family themes, like {{youkai}}. However, when the stress of their job started to catch up with them, the time they could spend with their kids started becoming less and less, with Susie in one image looking [[ThisIsGonnaSuck extremely worried]], until they eventually couldn't be with their kids anymore and had to move out of town to an apartment complex to get their work done, leaving them under their grandfather's watch. It's especially heart wrenching when Pump mentions in "Deadly Smiles" that their parents don't even answer their calls anymore, despite them clearly loving their kids.
