CriticalDissonance: the critics gave the film a 40% in rotten tomatoes but the audience was a lot more forgiving giving it a whopping 81%.

* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** Snow White is being bullied by guards, Merlin and Arthur overlooked her [[note]] she wasn't wearing her red shoes [[/note]] and she's left to fend for herself. But as the guards corner her, a mysteriously powerful surge of electricity zaps them out! Snow White is surprised to see it was Merlin, who saw this stranger in trouble and decided to help out of [[NiceGuy spontaneous kindness]]. Not only does it testify Merlin isn't one to let his curse stop him from being a hero, it marks the beginning of Snow White falling in love with him for who he is.
** [[spoiler: When the Magic Mirror shares exposition about the tree of Magic Apples that Snow White will become, Merlin asks "And then what?" The Mirror then says "Regina will be the most beautiful woman in the kingdom forever." To that, Merlin says "I don't care about her! What's going to happen to Snow White?" This is sweet, considering that Merlin's curse can only be lifted when he kisses "the most beautiful woman in the world." At this point, it's no longer about who can break his curse so much as it is about saving the one person who cared about him despite his dwarf form.]]

* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: Every time Merlin can use his powers at his peak, especially whenever [[MakesSenseInContext nobody looks at him]].
** If that wasn't awesome enough, then how about near the end of the film where [[spoiler:Jack uses his diamond to smash Magichard right in the face saying, "Au revoir, Mirror!!!" Not only that, but it shows that Diamonds are tough enough to break anything.]]
* NightmareFuel: This film has its fair share of examples for this trope:
** King White said in his journal that people around his castle were disappearing. It is implied that Regina [[spoiler:was using those missing people in order to regain her youth by turning them into magic trees, just like she did with Snow White near the end. This is shown happening to two magic trees at the beginning - once producing shoes that wither, and once producing the shoes that Snow White takes - and toward the end we learn that Regina can turn people into trees that produce one pair of shoes then wither and die.]]

* TearJerker:
** When Snow White has a run in with some bullysome guards at the Golden Goose town, she tries to call out to Merlin and Arthur to come to her help. They simply walk away without a second glance. Although it's justifiable that the dwarfs were looking for "Red Shoes" and didn't recognize Snow White, it's sad to see the girl wilt as she starts to believe they only care about her for her appearance.
** [[spoiler: Merlin's DisneyDeath.]]

* CompleteMonster: [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen Queen Regina]] is Snow White's [[WickedStepmother stepmother]], and a [[VainSorceress witch obsessed with maintaining her power, youth, and beauty]]. Getting Snow's father into falling in love with and marrying her, Regina begins picking off the staff and subjects as sacrifices for her magic trees, feeding them an apple which would [[ForcedTransformation turn them into a tree]], their fruit turning into shoes that would grant Regina her beauty and power. After numerous failed attempts, Regina would capture and enslave the King before hunting down a thief--a transformed Snow White--who "stole" said shoes. Recruiting Prince Average, when he fails to capture the thief, Regina turns him and his men into wooden golems. Realizing Snow stole from her, she coerces her into eating one of the apples, turning her into another tree at the threat of killing her beloved Merlin.

* NeverLiveItDown: Because of its incredibly poor marketing, many people think the movie's basic message is "If you're fat, you're ugly", even though, and tragically enough, the movie itself takes the complete opposite stand.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: The BeYourself aesop couldn't be any less subtle, but especially within context that Snow White ''likes'' herself the way she is and the only reason she wears the shoes is because ''others'' don't accept her, it's incredibly poignant nonetheless. Especially when you consider the film is a South Korean production, and the country has rather absurdly high beauty standards.

* HollywoodHomely: Snow White's original plus-sized form is actually quite adorable. Might be justified, given the movie's aesop.
