* BrokenBase: Many WiiU owners weren't too happy when Ubisoft announced that ''VideoGame/RaymanLegends'' would be delayed for seven months, ''weeks before the original release date''. Their follow up announcement to clarify that the game was already finished and the delay was only to release every version at the same time only made things worse.
* CharacterRerailment: In ''Rayman'', the title character was much more laid-back and childish than he is in ''Rayman 2'' and onwards, which portrayed him as a more serious character. ''Rayman Origins'', on the other hand, snapped him back to his more childish persona.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Mr. Dark. He's currently only appeared ''once'' in the games, and is incredibly enigmatic, fans loved him!

** Ly could count too, as she's immensely popular with the fanbase, and is often shipped with Rayman, despite only appearing in Rayman 2.

* FanonDiscontinuity: It's not uncommon to see fans hating the Rabbids with passion and rejecting their games like they never existed. Most fans of ''Rayman 3'' don't see the Game Boy Advance game, ''Hoodlum's Revenge'' as a decent sequel. Beside this, each games in the main series being quite different, there are some who only like the original game, those who only like the 3D games, those who like the first two but not those after, a few who like the series after the second game, and a minority that have enjoyed the entire series.

* ContestedSequel: ''Rayman 3'' is [[DenserAndWackier quite different in tone]] from [[{{Rayman 2}} the previous game]], and opinions are divided as a result. Some say that [[FranchiseKiller it was the game that put the series on the back-burner before]] ''RaymanOrigins'' was released, while some others say that it was the last good ''Rayman'' game before then.
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: The Hoodlum Wizard theme.

* DisappointingLastLevel: The third game's ending phases are relatively lackluster compared to the rest of the game.

* PortingDisaster: While the HD UpdatedRerelease of ''Rayman 3'' isn't exactly bad, it loses the song "Madder" (most likely due to licensing issues with Groove Armada, who made the song), and there are some sound and graphical issues that aren't in the original versions.
* ThatOneLevel: Beneath The Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, period. Your flying has to be timed perfectly for some parts.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Mr. Dark. He's currently only appeared ''once'' in the games, and is incredibly enigmatic, fans loved him, even when they never fought him. And he's returning for ''VideoGame/RaymanOrigins''!

* {{Flanderization}}: Globox is introduced in Rayman 2 as a little dumb and clumsy character but stay rational and helpful and had a few magical abilities. Comes Rayman 3, Globox has become a total retard that speaks to flowers, extremely clumsy and not helpful at all.
