* CompleteMonster: Mewtwo is the BigBad of the [=FireRed=] arc. A clone of the legendary Pokémon Mew, Mewtwo grew a hatred for humanity due to being tortured by one of the scientists who created him. After killing a scientist who took no part in his torture in a rage and destroying the laboratory he was created in, Mewtwo came across Mew, who trapped the latter on a deserted island in hopes that it would give Mewtwo time for his anger to subside. Despite calming down and regaining sanity, Mewtwo still held his hatred of humanity despite knowing not all of them are cruel, attempting to slowly choke a human who acccidentally washed on the island shore to death [[{{Sadist}} simply because he believes it's been too long since he's killed somebody]]. Looking for a way to break the seal that keeps him trapped on the island, Mewtwo deceives [[TheHero Ruby]] into killing the three legendary birds, who kept Mewtwo's power restrained, by pretending to be the ghost of Ruby's deceased Nuzleaf. After Ruby defeats Gary and is about to be crowned Elite Four Champion, Mewtwo breaks the minds of everybody in the stadium except for Ruby, and frames Mew for it with intention of Ruby killing Mew and completely breaking the seal. Mewtwo mocks Ruby for being tricked by him and proclaims that he looks forward to enjoying his newfound freedom, [[ForTheEvulz and might as well kill all humans while he's at it]], [[UngratefulBastard promising to kill Ruby last as his way of "thanks"]]

** The battle with N has begun and already things are going from bad to worse--Laila takes down Carracosta with one Petal Dance but Archeops resists it and swoops down on her. Zach jumps in to protect her, Archeops implicitly [[EyeScream gouging his eye out]] in the process, before wiping his attacker out with Surf. When Laila panics over what Zach did, Zach gives a rousing speech about how he doesn't want anything bad to happen to any of his teammates again...and as he does so, N's Klinklang is looming ominously behind him and charging up an electric attack...

* NightmareFuel: The vision Skyla's fiancee gets when she touches Nina, [[spoiler: displays a Hydreigon wrapped around her. Nina looks absolutely ''[[DespairEventHorizon broken]]'', and the scene is drawn with a creepy ArtShift. What is worse is that anyone who has played Black and White knows who [[ThatOneBoss the dragon belongs to]] and knows [[KillEmAll what it can do]]. It makes it rather horrifying to wonder how it will play out]].

** The [[http://jetsblacknuzlocke.com/comic/episodes/ep019.html nightmare]] Jet has just before her battle with [[ThatOneBoss Lenora]]--if the savage looking Watchog and Herdiers ''eating'' Firedog, Lilly and Leer don't scare you, than the downright ''demonic'' version of Lenora looming over them and laughing maniacally will. And then [[spoiler:Broccoli]] and [[Bottle]]'s ghosts show up...

* NightmareFuel: [[spoiler:Broccoli and Bottles' deaths were as horrifying as they were heartbreaking.]]

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: May goes from a FlatCharacter who didn't get as much characterization as Rival!Brandon to a StalkerWithACrush[=/=]{{Yandere}} whose expressions evoke ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry''.

** BaseBreaker: Because of this though, she also developed a hateful VocalMinority, see ShipToShipCombat below. The inevitable FlameWar was so bad that eventually the comic had to be ''moved to another topic'' because of it.

** FunnyAneurysmMoment: May was treated as an IneffectualSympatheticVillain and her threats of murder aren't taken very seriously, even when she kills grandma Winstrait. [[spoiler: But then she finally manages to kill Django...]]

* NightmareFuel: '''Everything'''.

* HarsherInHindsight / HilariousInHindsight: Near the ending parts of [=FireRed=], it was shown Petty's rival suffered immense injuries trying to capture Mewtwo, even losing an arm. Fast forward to 2013 and [[spoiler: the same thing happens to Green in ''Anime/PokemonOrigins'', but replace amputated arm with a broken one]].

* BaseBreaker: Anemoi from "Spirit Electrum" quickly established himself to be this.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Ashes, lampshaded in every later run.

* BrokenBase: Episode 8 of White: Hard Mode has been getting this for [[spoiler: having Ruby catch Victini, showing the "No Legendaries" rule is not in effect]], resulting in either people okay with it (mostly due to the mon's personality) or crying "ruined" .

* NauseaFuel: [[Spoiler: The ways Stan is described as having killed the gym leaders in "Super Stan's Super Awesome Adventure!"]]

* BaseBreaker: Anemoi quickly established himself to be this.

** Beat quickly established herself as this due to being a bigger Jerkass than Anemoi and for telling [[TheHeart Bump]] to kill himself.
** From his "Dark Stars" run, Sugar the Smoochum acquired this status due to her obnoxious behavior and turning Sophie against Manic.

* BaseBreaker: Anemoi has quickly established himself to be this.
* TheScrappy: Beat has quickly established herself as this due to being a bigger Jerkass than Anemoi and for telling [[TheHeart Bump]] to kill himself.
** From his new "Dark Stars" run, Sugar the Smoochum has acquired this status due to her obnoxious behavior and turning Sophie against Manic.

* ProtagonistCenteredMorality: Kit and his Pokemons slaughter countless of Pokemons during each run without a second thought and don't care about it at all. (And it's explicitely shown that these Pokemons die.) However, the death of a member of the team will be treated as an appropriately tragic moment.

* FridgeBrilliance: Squirtle and Charmander's little slap fight at the start of the Fire Red run makes more sense once you've seen their OriginStory.

* MarySue: One of the biggest complains about nuzlocke comics (as a genre) is the main character turning into this.
** For instance, the anomaly-like ability to completely understand and communicate with their Pokemon is rather common to see in many Nuzlockes despite the fact only a single known person, N, has it in the Pokemon universe. It doesn't help some of the sue traits are the result of good fortune on their Nuzlocke run, the game's plot deliberately revolving around the player character, the real life [[GenreSavvy savviness]] of the artist being able to avoid most deaths through means of exploiting the RockPaperScissors. In a way, the character coming off as a sue is justified since it is less of an issue of bad writing and more of the way the game is designed....but this still isn't a good thing.
*** Some of the better runs have been deconstructing this, though. Along with the aformentioned upgrade to Plasma's legitimacy, there's also leadups to the [=NPCs=] (mostly rivals) feeling worthless next to the protagonists, and ocassionally Pokemon turning into {{Death Seeker}}s for whatever reason.

** {{Wangst}}: Once you apply FridgeLogic to the Nuzlocke comics.

** CrossoverShip: Nina is shipped with James, the protagonist of Death's Nuzlocke. (Apparently, they're {{Tsundere}} for each other.) The ship is known as [[http://kynimdraws.tumblr.com/post/42391191834 "Nuzlocke Grumps"]], and has [[http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/nuzlocke-grumps lots of fanart]].

* MartyStu: The main character can sometimes be this at times. This is acknowledged by the author [[http://s7.zetaboards.com/Nuzlocke_Forum/topic/8742170/61/ in a recent Q&A session]].

* MartyStu: Kit often bends the rules. He often manages a setup with some Pokemon who knows how to use computers to get knowledge about things Kit can't know himself, catches multiple legendaries, and his whole quest in Platinum is to turn the situation into an EverybodyLives scenario.

* The Unnamed Protagonist from [[http://s7.zetaboards.com/Nuzlocke_Forum/topic/8579823/1/ Pitch Black]] is a [[NightmareFuel terrifying]], evil, sadistic protagonist. From the beginning it's established that he's NOT a good character, (Considering we see his first activities IMPALING POKEMON ON HIS PICKET FENCE). From then on, any Pokemon he catches he forces to fight and brutally murder his friends and family and sees them nothing more as tools, even going as far as to [[spoiler: KILL his own Pokemon]]. Basically, he's an even worse version of Paul. His Oshawott, Icarus, MAY be just as bad.
