This was apparently done because IFI forgot to add "Language" in the description of the game and had to comply to the ESRB rating system to not cause anymore conflict, as every game sans ''[[VideoGame/HyperdimensionNeptuniaMk2 mk2]]'' has been rated T. This led to backlash by the majority of the Western fandom, denouncing that the edited dialogue either sounded too {{narm}}y (removing the word "piss off" despite being a relatively mild swear or replacing the word "bullshit" to simply just "bull") or ''worse'' (such as "bastard" being changed to "die") than the previous dialogue, as well as the fact that most of the dialogue came from Blanc, who is known for her [[SirSwearsALot crass language]], which led to more criticism from fans who believed the "revised" dialogue undermined her character. Even those willing to forgive IFI directed their anger towards ESRB, due to their general disdain towards Japanese games, being {{hypocrite}}s by allowing other T-rated games (especially from the West) with vulgar dialogue, and how whole situation could've been avoided had IFI recalled and re-released their copies to include the "Language" warning rather than rewriting the game's foul dialogue entirely.
