** Though G3 has a niche fandom with those drawn to the series since My Little Pony Tales for it's SliceOfLife format, who considers anything prior to ''Tales'' unwatchable and are against the direction taken by G4 Season 2.

** With Breyer horses, which is another popular brand of horse toys however they strive for realism.

* AccidentalInnuendo: Online product descriptions of the toys put certain items in quotation marks to indicate that they can't actually be used as intended (e.g. plastic cake). (This probably has something to do with avoiding lawsuits.) A description with several words in quotation marks may end up sounding like a HurricaneOfEuphemisms.

* BrokenBase: Between the generations. The most common is WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic vs Any-other-gen-in-the-series; several bronies consider themselves only fans of G4, and not ''MyLittlePony'' fans. Though anything post-G1 is guaranteed to get hate from even the classic fans

** Even G4 has it's own broken base. Again, it's a battle between those who love the show for being hip and for it's pop-culture references (drew there due to Lauren Faust helming the series) versus existing viewers from G3 who love the franchise for it's SliceOfLife format.

''Tales'' predates G2 by several years and is very obviously set in G1 due to the character designs. G2 was in fact the only generation not to have a cartoon, though it did get comic and a video game.

* MyRealDaddy: American illustrator and designer Bonnie Zacherle, sculptor Charles Muenchinger and manger Steve D'Aguanno are the creators of Franchise/MyLittlePony. Fans of [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic G4]] will tell you the only Pony creator that matters is LaurenFaust.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: More like an Ensemble Leaf-green Unicorn, though. Her name is Mimic. There is no evidence to suggest that she is the rarest Pony [[note]]the rarest Ponies are probably the Twice-As-Fancy Babies, who didn't sell well because they are completely different Pony "breeds" from their adult counterparts[[/note]], but she is the most sought-after. Just look her up on eBay.
* FanMyopia: So very very very much. Many people would take one look at the show and go "I don't get it. What's the big whoop?"
** Averted with the actual demographic though.

** Laugher Shards. They're ever so plentiful in the game, to the point where you can easily stock literally hundereds of them within a few minutes.
** Princess Celestia and Luna both have an animation that has them drop ''one of each shard''. {{Justified|Trope}} by their high price.
* GoodBadBugs:
** Turning on airplane mode on [=iOS=] devices allowed you to pay bits for ponies that would normally require playing a game to obtain.[[note]]The game in question normally requires 25 gems, which are much harder to come by than bits. Snails is the only pony this trick did not work for.[[/note]] It also changed Soarin's price from 450 Gems to 67500 Bits and vice versa for Fleetfoot. This was patched in version 1.0.1.
** Once [[spoiler:Twilight becomes an alicorn]], Derpy will no longer appear in her box. This bug makes her easier to spot.
* HarsherInHindsight/HilariousInHindsight: Depending on which order you came to it. One point involves LovePotion, and there's a screen with a picture of Lovestruck (a pony with Valentine's Day colors and a bow-and-arrow cutie mark; clearly Pony Cupid before that role was taken in the show by Cadence) and words to the effect of love potions being a good way to help a shy pony ask someone out on a date. Well, [[Recap/HeartsAndHoovesDay that idea has been tried, and it didn't go so well]].
* ScrappyMechanic:
** Nuisance Objects (stones, bushes, thorns, hollow trees) that naturally occur and cost money and time to remove (some even requiring ''16,000'' bits to remove). It's evident that these exist to convince you to buy Gems to delete them faster.
** Parasprites in Ponyville, Changelings in Canterlot, Vampire Fruit Bats in Sweet Apple Acres. Each unit requires five of a certain elemental shard to remove (three in the bats' case). Have fun grinding Magic shards (the rarest of the shards) if you end up with magenta Parasprites or bats or Changelings shielded by magenta energy, as they're just as common as the other five types. Somewhat alleviated by the advent of totems in the Everfree Forest update, although you still have to wait for the totems to produce shards (and collect more ingredients for a new totem once your current one runs out, then wait for the totem to be made).
** There is no confirmation prompt (as in, the "are you sure you want to X?" box you would get for, say, deleting a file) for using Gems. It's very easy for a single mistap to use precious Gems you've been trying to stockpile for a big purchase, and there is no way to undo it.
* ThatOneLevel: The constellations game. If you're not using a tablet, prepare to keep missing, ''a lot''.
