** Pretty much the entire dub is narm charm. It's so hilariously over-the-top and silly, but considering the nature of the show it fits perfectly.

* WhatMeasureIsANonBadass: Rain had the misfortune of [[spoiler:falling in love with Domon at the end of the series.]] Cue the cries of "Rain lost of coolness because of that" from the FanDumb.
** Let's not forget that fangirls consider Rain "inferior" to Allenby due to being more traditionally feminine than she is ''and'' for being the MsFanservice, [[TheDutifulSon ignoring]] [[{{Tsundere}} her]] [[SilkHidingSteel multifaceted]] [[SinsOfOurFathers personality.]]

** Also Domon and Rain as a "Memetic Sweet Couple", only [[{{GundamX}} Garrod and Tiffa]] edge them out slightly in that regard.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Hans Holgar from Neo Denmark. He's got a fish-shaped Gundam, but his [[TheSmartGuy smarts]] and [[EstrogenBrigadeBait and VERY good looks]] have given him a special place in the fans's hearts

* EsotericHappyEnding: While on the personal level it's happy, on the global scale it is not as happy as it seems. [[spoiler:The Devil Gundam is banished, but then the audience is presented with the final message promising another Gundam Fight to come after the end, which means Earth is bound to continue to suffer the ignorant tyranny of the warring colonies for the control of the planet. It is hardly any better off.]]

* BetterThanItSounds: Despite being more SuperRobot-ish, this is one of the few Gundam Series that doesn't highlight teenagers but instead young adults and older: with the exception of Sai . It also deconstructs the FallingIntoTheCockpit trope where a kid nearly kills himself just ''trying'' to pilot a Gundam.
** It also has some surprising CharacterDepth and CharacterDevelopment considering the fact that the series is over-the-top even by [[ShinMazinger modern]] [[TengenToppaGurrenLagann standards]]. The love story between Domon and Rain is one of the highlights.

* MagnificentBastard: Both Prime Minister Wong and Colonel Urube Ishikawa

* SuperlativeDubbing: Well... I can't speak to the accuracy of the translation, and the voice acting itself runs the gambit from lacking to pretty decent. Except for Mark Gatha. He had some amazing pipes and is one of maybe three English voice actors to ever pull off the energy and ability to yell super moves that's so important in a robot show.

** Or Domon's line in Episode 26: "But this time I'm a WONDER BUG!!!"

* HateDom: Amongst the [[SeriousBusiness more serious Gundam fans]], this series is a sore subject.

** It also has some surprising CharacterDepth and CharacterDevelopment considering the fact that the series is over-the-top even by modern standards. The love story between Domon and Rain is one of the highlights.
