** The entirety of the -13 class has similar, extremely bad "-Abnormalities", such as the ability to rot anything and everything they touch -- including buildings. A character even specifically states [[ContrivedCoincidence the -13 class is basically Medaka's perfect enemy]], since she can't even approach some of them without absorbing mental illness or BlessedWithSuck, which she would then take UpToEleven.

** She decides to stop this attitude in exchange for helping her brother save Koga's life.

*** In the second ShounenJump popularity poll contest, Kumagawa won with almost four thousand votes. The second place holder (Medaka) did not even reaching one thousand votes.

** Kumagawa himself. He starts out as the second BigBad, and pretty much Medaka's Arch Enemy and complete opposite. His dissonant serenity and overall humor arguably make his character more interesting than Medaka's. And having a [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn]] doesn't deter his status in the slightest

* ChaoticNeutral: Kumagawa, described as "like a mix of good and evil; it's as if he can kill his emotions in an instant", by Maguro. Ironically, Kumagawa has the capacity to heal, fixing even Maguro's ''missing organs.''

** She decides to stop this attitude in exchange for helping her brother save Koga's life.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: The true nature of the Minus class. To quote one Minus: "Do you know the taste of gas that your parent makes you swallow? How about the taste of licking a perverted teacher's shoe? The taste of sand that your classmates make you swallow? At least you know the taste of a newspaper that was the only food you could obtain? Of course you don't know, because you guys are the happy ones. But those kinds of tastes are just how it is for us, Class Minus 13's members. We have experienced the worst, that's why we can do the worst." The Minus class want to create a world without Plus or Minus, by any means necessary, even if it means eradicating every Plus in the world. After all, if they could never be happy, if life was stacked against them from the word go without ever having done anything to deserve it, then why should ANYONE be happy?
** Kumagawa's MotiveRant might have been invented on the spot. Remember, he's compulsive liar. His underlings believe that he wishes to ''destroy the world''. They are okay with that. Otherwise this trope still applies though.
*** As to whether or not he's lying is questionable: his powers, if let lose, could destroy all of existence. But, while he admits that he does want to destroy the world, [[TheFettered he keeps his powers in check at all times.]] Perhaps the reason why is simply due to the [[EvenEvilHasStandards Minus standards above.]] This would mean that he won't do it until he's at least 18, considered a legal adult, and held fully responsible for his sins.

* CompleteMonster: Kumagawa. According to Zenkichi's mother, all Minuses are [[CompleteMonster Complete Monsters]] -- and Kumagawa is the worst one she ever met.
** The nature of a Minus is rather unusual, as they don't start out as bad people, or at least, not as complete monsters. It's their powers, and what those powers represent, that do this to them. Kumagawa, who has the power to [[spoiler: make anything turn into nothing]], his powers stem from the simple fact that, well, nothing he has ever tried to do in his life has succeeded, meaning nothing good ever comes from what he does. A Minus is essentially [[DrivenToVillainy a person whom fate has dealt the worst possible hand from the very beginning,]] [[UpToEleven taken above and beyond what is reasonable.]]

Instead, Medaka ends up handling all three, in order to show how determined and amazing her abilities are. Though the point was to emphasize her care even for enemies (as Zenkichi states the three of them could have done much worse), it still ends up emphasizing Medaka's GodModeSue qualities rather than giving the other three members much development.
