* UnfortunateImplications: A '''lot''' of homophobic subtext, especially in the context of [[spoiler:Victor's]] imprinting, which is played exactly like your average CureYourGays plotline. Granted, most of the issues actually come from him, as his is a very realistic portrayal of gay men in self denial. However, the fact that not only is his imprinting okay (basically, trading natural sexuality for a ficticious trait that reeks of creepyness, [[DoubleStandardRapeSciFi as it is very complex free will wise]]) is encouraged, but ''treated as the right course of action'', leaves quite a sour taste for people not into the "opressing other's happiness in name of fickle morality".

Replacing missing carriage return.

* NoYay: What the author said to the perceived Addy/Elspeth LesYay. The reader base read so much LesYay between (old vampire) Addy and (five-year-old) Elspeth that she edited the end of chapter 14 to avoid ending on a certain line.* OneOfUs: Her requested Christmas present was putting tropes on this page and putting the proper links back. Think she might be a troper?

* IronWoobie: Allirea. Jacob could count being forced to head a pack at fifteen, his father having been murdered and his sisters taken to Volterra. But he never complains and even manages to do a decent job as a Alpha. Cody also, his parents murdered and his siblings kept wolves and yet he is always joking and cheerful. More tellingly he does not resent Bella for surviving what killed his parents.

* FridgeHorror: [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=5dt6ub9yrpgzcwi5gjw1r0mf&page=24 Pointed out by the author on this very site]]. Allirea's state of rest - what happens when she's not actively exerting effort - is to be unnoticeable. This has always been the case for her. Anything that is clearly "about" Allirea is not worth notice unless she acts to counteract that default. She's also a half-vampire. [[spoiler: This means that her mother died an agonizing death by childbirth. And no one cared.]]

* CharacterDerailment: Proof of TropesAreNotBad in this case. The premise ''is'' the derailment of Bella's character, and many of the things that make her a boring, unlikeable twit in ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' are replaced in ''Luminosity'' with actual (not implied) intelligence and character.
** Ditto for Edward. While he shares many traits with his canonical counterpart, he's infinitely saner - a necessary deviation from canon, since ''Luminosity's'' Bella would have loathed Meyer's Edward.

* {{SugarWiki/Fiction Identity Postulate}}. To the friggin' ''max''. There are a lot of people who loathe {{Twilight}} and love this fic.
* FridgeLogic: An in-universe example. ''Luminosity's'' Bella is much more inquisitive and logical than ''[[{{Twilight}} Twilight's]]'' Bella and outright questions and resolves some Fridgy issues from the original books. The issue of female vampires not being able to procreate, for example, is resolved when Bella proposes freezing her eggs while she's human in the event that she may want children as a vampire.

** Also, Allirea's witchcraft. She's briefly mentioned in ''Luminosity'', where it's said that she can divert notice from herself. She doesn't actually make herself invisible, just uninteresting. Probably not useless, but nowhere near as cool as, say, Alice's magic. And then you actually ''meet'' her. This troper can't have been the only one thinking "Holy SHIT! WTF just happened?!"
