Two TRS efforts

* AcceptablePoliticalTargets: Both right-wing and left-wing viewpoints get satirized in the film.
* AmbiguousDisorder:
** As a teenager, Arthur is shown to have few friends, and he struggles with social rules, opening up the possibility of his being on the autistic spectrum. By the time he is an adult, these traits are no longer present, but some of his behavior seems to imply mild OCD.
** Bahia gets lots of AttentionDeficitOohShiny moments, and can quite easily be read as having ADHD.

Critical Research Failure is a disambiguation page

* CriticalResearchFailure: Bahia's mother and father get married in 1972. In a flashback to their first meeting, a poster of the Creator/AlainDelon movie ''Pour La Peau d'Un Flic'', which only came out in 1981, can be seen in the background (in a voice-over, Bahia specifically comments that her mother hates Delon's films).
** However, it's possible that the scene is just Bahia's later interpretation of an event she wasn't alive to witness, and that she simply inserted the poster of a Delon film she was more familiar with into it.

* HarsherInHindsight: Bahia berating Arthur for advising caution during a possible bird flu outbreak ("You people make everyone fascist!") is an EstablishingCharacterMoment for her, as it demonstrates her willingness to disregard facts if they don't line up with her personal feelings on an issue. But the whole thing seems a lot less funny after the COVID-19 pandemic, when a lack of similar precautions led to thousands of deaths.

** As a teenager, Arthur is shown to have few friends, and he responds in an emotionally inappropriate way to a presentation on the Holocaust, opening up the possibility of his being on the autistic spectrum. By the time he is an adult, this is gone, but some of his behavior seems to imply mild OCD.

* SignatureScene: The scene where Bahia accidentally gets on the Metro while naked was singled out by many reviewers as a highlight, particularly since Sara Forestier manages to turn a scenario that could easily seem far-fetched and ridiculous into something believable.

** [[https://www.parismatch.com/Culture/Cinema/Sara-Forestier-Lionel-Jospin-Gamblin-le-nom-des-gens-151598 In fact]], the sequence had been cut in early drafts of the film, as many of the actresses who auditioned for the role of Bahia expressed concerns at the amount of nudity involved. When she heard about it after landing the part, Forestier specifically requested that the scene be put back in, as she felt that it was integral to the spirit of the character, and didn't want to pass up the opportunity to do a nude scene in a comedic context. Her premonition seems to have been correct as she won the French equivalent of the best actress Oscar for her performance.
