* GameBreaker: Maar's Lance is a powerful ranged spell that deals a lot of damage and has additional benefits based on which version of it you're using. The Level 1 version is has a very short cooldown, the Level 2 version explodes, and the Level 3 version is a SuperPersistentMissile that will continue to seek out targets for several seconds regardless of ho many times it penetrates enemies, making it OneHitPolykill against most encounters and an easy way to chew through bosses as well. All of these attacks are easy to aim to boot thanks to the lock on system meant for melee combat carrying over to the targeting. Best of all, each Level of the spell is treated as a separate spell with its own cooldown, meaning you can equip all 3 versions at once and cycle through them to spam your way to victory.

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: In the first level, Minukelsus starts off on a rather bad foot with his high pitched cries for help and bumbling antics marking him as a rather unfunny CowardlySidekick whose only redeeming feature is that he doesn't get in the way. However, he becomes much less annoying after being DemotedToExtra as his cowardice is treated less comically and he becomes actually rather helpful by delivering the occasional UpgradeArtifact. On top of that, the player doesn't actually need to protect Minukelsus throughout the majority of the game [[EscortMission like they do with Gretchen]]. By the time he becomes a major character again and the player temporarily switches to [[ADayInTheLimelight escorting Minukelsus]], he has become [[TookALevelInBadass much more competent in battle]], being much better at staying out of the way than Gretchen and even having DifficultButAwesome OneHitKill attacks. [[spoiler: And to cap it all off, his newfound strength is revealed to be CastFromLifespan, making his entire gameplay sequence one long HeroicSacrifice.]]
