* {{Narm}}: As listed in JustAStupidAccent on the main page, the fact that ''everyone'' in Marrakesh sounds North American or British is incredibly immersion breaking. General Zaydan in particular sounds like he's a British General from a WWII movie.

* MoralEventHorizon: Silvio Caruso's mother Isabella crossed it in the backstory by paying their pool boy to seduce Silvio's high school girlfriend (his first and apparently ''only'' romantic relationship in his entire life), show pictures of them in the act on their ''prom night'' and telling him "Romantic love is fleeting. Only a mother's love endures", solely so that Silvio would be dependent on her forever.
** Reza Zaydan's plan to increase chaos in Morocco so that he can pull his coup includes sending [[FalseFlagOperation people dressed in the uniform and weapons of a terrorist group]] to fire on the civilians protesting for Strandberg's rendition.

Crazy Awesome is about people who are crazy and are awesome because of it, and not just about things you think are really awesome. Also, Base Breaker is for characters only.

* BaseBreaker: The Episodic nature of the game. While initially unpopular, quite a few fans have come around to believe it encourages players to explore the ''many'' different ways to complete objectives, especially given levels as large as Sapienza.
** The Elusive Contracts system which make it so if you don't do these contracts within a limited time frame or die during them, you'll never be able to do them again. Some fans find them to be extremely enjoyable and one of the few original ideas the franchise has had in years. Others are angry at being denied content they can't ever play after a certain period and feel it's against the spirit of Hitman in replayability.

* BrokenBase: This game being episodic, depending on who you ask it's either a good idea or an exploitative business model.

* CrazyAwesome: The developers have decided to throw in some pretty wacky disguises in each level.
** In Paris, you have the Vampire Magician disguise, which you can use to recreate your Phantom of the Opera fantasies of dropping chandeliers and other objects on your targets before escaping through the sewers.
** In Sapienza, you have the Medieval Plague Doctor who stalks his victims with a circumcision knife.

* WinBackTheCrowd: The developers made it clear that this would be closer to the earlier ''Hitman'' games in style. As the previous game in the series, ''VideoGame/HitmanAbsolution'', was met with a divisive reaction from the fanbase for its ActionizedSequel nature and Grindhouse tone. Though ironically this game itself has wound up being even more divisive then the last game due to it's very controversial episodic business model, which pissed many fans off to the point of alienating them(having console exclusive content for the PS4 did not help either)

The developers later revealed in a blog post that gloved versions of (at least) the returning outfits will be made available later through elusive targets.

** The After the accusations of sexism thrown at ''VideoGame/HitmanAbsolution'', it can be quite refreshing to see female targets of ''Blood Money'' and ''Absolution'' wore very fanservice-y clothing and weren't very bright. The developers seemingly realized this, and in this game, to be more than fanservice for once, with the female targets of the 2 first episodes are notably two being significantly smarter than the male targets.

** While some were skeptical about the episodic nature of the game. Many felt it would be rushed, or every level wouldn't be worth it. When Paris came out, everyone was shocked to see how mind mindbogglingly complex just a single mansion was- when Sapizena came out, people were astonished at how ''huge'' the damn town was, and many have become angry that the game is episodic, not because of any principles, but because these two levels are so damn good that they want more ''immediately''. Considering the backlash the game faced, this was a good thing.

* TheWoobie: To an extent, Sebastian Sato. He clearly does not like the designs he has to create for Sanguine, and is only there because Novikov threatens to 'end him' if he does not comply. And while he is a bit of a LargeHam prima donna (as you can tell if you spend even a second backstage during the fashion show), his speech after the show shows his anger at being having to make and take credit for work that he personally detests. On the other hand, a number of challenges involve killing him as well, so he may be more TheChewToy.

** Silvio Caruso is a neurotic Italian nobleman who, despite having a great intellect and vast fortune, can't enjoy it due to his numerous psychological issues. He's developed his bioweapon not as a means of hurting other people but giving the weak the ability to stand up for themselves. The fact it can also be used as a weapon of tyranny seems to have genuinely not occurred to him.

* ItsEasySoItSucks: Purists have taken issue with the new "Opportunities" system: If 47 overhears the right conversation (which the game even notifies with an icon if you're approaching one), the game will essentially give the player a quest line complete with waypoints that will handhold the player straight to one of the targets. It is possible to disable it, however.
