** Considering this was announced before the movie was, and there hasn't been any word on what's happening with it, maybe the producers realized this trope was in action and cancled the series while it was still in it's infancy.

** These two lazy bastards go waaayyyyy beyond AdultChild. Hayate's father is unemployed, saying he's looking for "the perfect job", which apparently includes getting a fat paycheck for doing absolutely nothing. His mother has a gambling habit, and couldn't care less where her gambling money comes from: Hayate's multiple part and full-time jobs, the [[strike:Yakuza]] [[RunningGag Very Nice People]], wherever. I haven't seen the entire series up to the latest episode, but from what I've seen, they left Hayate behind [[KarmaHoudini without a trace]].

* FanPreferredCouple - The show is already rather unusual since not only is there no OfficialCouple yet, but the chance of the male and female leads never getting together is seriously, legitimately, a possibility despite occasional ShipTease (but everyone gets that in this show).

* {{Asexuality}} - This is a plausible explination for Hayate's cluelessness about his {{unwanted harem}}. He's clueless about being able to make a girl's heart skip a beat in a momentary encounter and Hinagiku has actually stated that his fantasy of what could happen if Luca were to [[{{Dropped a Bridget on Him}} find out he were actually a guy]] would mean that no girl around him would be alive anymore. Even when he does react, it's '''significantly''' less than most guys would. He's seen several young women full-frontal nude and still recovers before they do (and without more than a blush), and even his stated crushes don't get as severe reaction as you would expect from him. And just to make it more apparent, many of the girls are {{covert pervert}}s themselves.

* {{Love Before First Sight}} - Though of debatable merit, some characters may have predicted that Hayate would fall for Hinagiku before she was even introduced in the manga. Given that {{Even the Girls Want Her}}, and she falls for him [[LoveAtFirstSight when she does first meet him]], this is plausibly explainable.

Given that {{Even the Girls Want Her}}, and she falls for him [[LoveAtFirstSight when she does first meet him]], this is plausibly explainable.

*** This is the girl who kicked {{Made of Iron}} Hayate into complaining that she was hurting him, and then played it off as nothing.

* [[DracoInLeatherPants Draco In Leather Panties]] - Athena.
** RonTheDeathEater - Fans of the other girls openly slut-shame her for [[BuxomBabe having big breasts]] and sexier clothes. And they also love falsely accusing her of being a CompleteMonster to make their "candidates" look better.

** As the counterpart to Athena, Hinagiku gets this treatment from fans of Athena, even to the point of fans assuming that Hina is a person's favorite character despite their continual statements made saying she's not.

* BetterOnDVD - Though YourMileageMayVary depending on whether the constant [[{{bowdlerise}} bowdlerising]] becomes a RunningGag to you or no.

* MagnificentBastard - Opposing Mikado (though in-story she doesn't even seem aware of him yet), Miki Hanabishi is proudly known for her plots to make trouble for Hinagiku, in fact it's clearly stated in her profile that she enjoys it, but generally seems to be using such tactics to push Hina to the forefront of the competition for [[UnwantedHarem Hayate's]] [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy affection]]. While at the same time pursuing Hinagiku with her own romantic interest.

* MagnificentBastard - Opposing Mikado (though in-story she doesn't even seem aware of him yet), Miki Hanabishi is proudly known for her plots to make trouble for Hinagiku, in fact it's clearly stated in her profile that she enjoys it, but generally seems to be using such tactics to push Hina to the forefront of the competition for [[UnwantedHarem Hayate's]] [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy affection]]. While at the same time pursuing Hinagiku with her own romantic interest.

* Ship Sinking - When 'Alice' enters the scene, she recognises Hayate and knows possibly Hinagiku has the sword she's looking for, but there's no indications of the affection she confessed to at the end of her arc. In fact, she actively denies any relationship with Hayate during her chapter.

*** Given [[AllThereintheManual other material]], the song doesn't seem to have anything to do with Hayate at all (instead focusing on the friendships). The Hayate-themed ending was probably just Hinagiku's mind playing with her, since that was what the arc was about in it's entirety.
