* FanonDiscontinuity: Many fans prefer to regard ''H20'' as the ending to the original series. Curtis sees the movie as a joke, while Carpenter tends to ignore all films past the first one.

* MemeticBadass: Inverted to the point of InformedAttribute. Part of Freddie's Scrappy status includes mention that he was beating Michael using martial arts. In the actual fight, [[spoiler:Michael had the upper hand up until Freddie electrocutes him.]]

* AssPull: The whole "Michael replaced an ambulance worker for himself at the end of ''H20''" revelation at the start. It wasn't exactly a ''true'' AssPull, since producer Moustapha Akkad had planned the idea to get out of ''H20''[='=]s ending ever since they shot it, but even hardcore fans didn't buy it. It was originally worse; the Michael Myers in H20 wasn't actually Michael, it was an obsessive fan. It may have made more sense, but it would've been a very hard twist to defend. Par for the course for Akkad, who signed off on the ending of 4 with Jamie taking over as the killer in the series, but had no intention of following up on it.

* OldShame: For Creator/KateeSackhoff. When she sat down twenty years later to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAavUHbma2U watch the film]] for the first time, she was embarrassed by her performance, which she felt was a bad [[Film/{{Clueless}} Cher Horowitz]] impression (though she was impressed with her scream, even noting that she had dubbed over Bianca Kajlich's screams in some parts). In particular, she recounted a scene where her character Jen flashes her bra for the camera, which wasn't in the script and which she was not comfortable doing, leading the filmmakers to go behind her back and use a body double for the scene -- an experience that led her to include a strict "no nudity" clause in all of her contracts going forward.

** Jamie Lee Curtis having [[spoiler:Laurie killed in the opening sequence]] in order to not do any more films in the series. 16 years later, she [[Film/Halloween2018 returned to the role yet again]] - for a trilogy, in fact (assuming she appears in all three) - [[CanonDiscontinuty undoing the events of all films except]] [[Film/Halloween1978 the first]].

** Jamie Lee Curtis having [[spoiler:Laurie killed in the opening sequence]] in order to not do any more films in the series is particularly funny now that [[http://variety.com/2017/film/news/jamie-lee-curtis-halloween-finale-set-2018-1202560418/ she's coming back for a new sequel]] to be released on the original film's 40th anniversary.

*** Heck, many wished that the film, after killing off Laurie, followed John and Molly and their fight against Michael, seeing as how ''[[Film/HalloweenII1981 Halloween II]]'' sets up the idea that he’s trying to kill everybody in his family.

*** Hell, the fact that ''Haddonfield itself'' doesn't have a particularly significant role in the story ''at all '' is disappointing considering it'd be rather interesting seeing how it's changed within this separate continuity from the ''Thorn'' trilogy.
