** Another common prediction was that the father of Superwoman's baby was [[spoiler:again, Alexander Luthor]].
** Also relatively common among those familiar with DC CrisisCrossover history was the prediction that the GreaterScopeVillain was [[spoiler:the Anti-Monitor]].

* CaptainObviousReveal: The identity of the creature who destroyed Earth-3 is a mystery that is built up throughout the entire series, and the answer is only revealed in the very last panel. Many readers were quick to correctly guess that the culprit was [[spoiler:the Anti-Monitor, who had done the exact same thing previously in ''ComicBook/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths''. The fact his arrival is announced by the skies turning red, much like in the previous crisis, should give his presence away to savvy readers almost immediately]].

Doesn't really describe a conflict. Looks more like one-sided complaining about the way Nightwing is portrayed after the reboot.

** Nightwing's unmasking was, as you'd expect, a cause of this. In part, because the New 52 hasn't established that Nightwing being unmasked would have as big an effect on the DC Universe as it would have done before the reboot, due to his lack of interaction with non-Bat Family members post-reboot (even in-story, Luthor is utterly confused when this happens as he has no idea who Dick Grayson is), whereas before the reboot Nightwing was arguably TheHeart of the superhero community.

Zero Context Example. The wording suggests this was added as soon as the character was revealed, thus breaking one of the trope's rules ("sustained conflict").

** [[spoiler:Alexander Luthor]] being given superpowers in this new continuity, and the implication that he is now the EvilCounterpart rather than the opposite has split the fanbase yet again.

The Crime Syndicate members were introduced in Trinity War. While they were unexpected characters in that arc, they are not in this one. Many people saw the Anti-Monitor twist coming from a mile.

* UnexpectedCharacter: Nobody expected the Crime Syndicate from Earth 3 to show up. [[spoiler:The Anti-Monitor came out of left field as well]].

Narm is "serious moment is unintentionally hilarious". The first example reads as "moment falls flat", whereas the second one doesn't really explain what's funny about Ultraman's actions.

* {{Narm}}:
** ''Justice League'' #24 makes it ''painfully'' clear that Ultraman's parents are evil versions of Jor-El (Jor-Il in Earth-3) and Lara.
--->'''Lara''': This is all ''your'' fault, Jor-Il.
--->'''Jor-Il''': Just shut up and ''die'', Lara.
** Much later, we see infant Kal-Il crash land near Johnny and Martha Kent's home, here as two petty criminals and drug addicts. The first thing Kal-Il does is vaporize Johnny's hand with his heat vision and then clearly state "You two. You will be my parents now." Ultraman mentions he killed them when he was seven and razed the farm to the ground.

Not YMMV, neither example appears to have enough context.

* RewatchBonus:
** ''Justice League of America'' #8 takes on new context after you read ''Forever Evil'' #3 and learn that [[spoiler:the League's TailorMadePrison is in fact the Firestorm Matrix]]. Making the entire enterprise a LiteralMetaphor for a [[spoiler:mind prison]].
** The Syndicate's treatment of their hooded prisoner also takes on a new light knowing [[spoiler: that he's a superpowered Alexander Luthor]].

** The ScheduleSlip of the final issue of the series led to several jokes about DC taking the title of the event to heart by dragging it out.

* CompleteMonster: Nobody who came from Earth 3 had a shot at heaven in a million years, but Johnny Quick and Atomica stand out. Unlike the others [[spoiler:who are gearing up for the Anti-Monitor]], they slaughter people for no reason other than shits and giggles, with Atomica going so far as to have a taste for killing children. They are despicable enough that their defeats [[spoiler:(Quick getting one leg shattered by Captain Cold, and Atomica crushed under Lex Luthor's boot)]] feel even more satisfying than the rest of the Crime Syndicate.

** The end of issue 1 features Ultraman pushing the moon to create a solar eclipse.

*** Inversely, some fans are upset that despite being a major event focusing on DC's villains, ComicBook/TheJoker is absent, while others are happy DC's finally leaving him alone, since ''Comicbook/DeathOfTheFamily'' happened a few months prior — and ''especially'' considering The Joker himself was a BaseBreakingCharacter in said arc, where some were okay with him and some think The Comicbook/{{New 52}} turned him into a {{Narm}}tastic Villain Sue. Though some fans argued that the main reason Joker ''should'' be involved was so they could give him CharacterRerailment from this.

* ArcFatigue: For a number of people. The main reason was that ''ComicBook/TrinityWar'', an event DC had been shilling for over a year, turned out to merely be a lead-in to Forever Evil. Add in a generally sluggish pace magnified by the main series being delayed - the 7th issue came three months after the 6th - and you've got readers making a ''lot'' of jokes about the title.
* BrokenBase:
** The appearance of Sinestro in promotional art didn't go over too well with ''ComicBook/GreenLantern'' fans, who were hoping DC would leave the character alone after the ending of Geoff Johns' run on the series closed by giving Sinestro an effective send-off. Of course, there are fans who are ''quite'' happy to see Johns writing Sinestro again, also along with the fact that it closes up character threads from ''Wrath of the First Lantern'' - as Volthoom is historically Power Ring's mentor.
