* ShippingGoggles: Once again, the author actually loves this happening. She will constantly tease people with multiple ships that are slowly getting some backing.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: [[spoiler: For those who did not like Akita as protagonist, her dying and Ayano becoming the new one can be viewed as this.]]

* ThemePairing: Why some people ship characters. For example, although it has progressed farther now as a ship, people used to ship Minato and Mirabilis together because of their similar themes.

* FoeYay: [[spoiler: Hideyoshi with Akita, Takayuki, and Hayato. Akita herself gets some suggestive scenes with Akiza considering there are whips around.]]
** [[spoiler: Kaneshiro with Ayano Kamukura and Hotaru. Considering he rapes the two of them, they do get a lot of suggestive scenes with him.]]
** [[spoiler: Kira and Ayano Kirigiri. Doesn't help that the two of them live each other in canon.]]

** Of the FoeYay variety, Hideyoshi is described to get in very...interesting poses with Takayuki and Hayato.

* FandomNickname: Some of Monokuma's nicknames have become this such as Aya-Izumi-Chan-Chan.

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: Due to the dark themes and disturbing material of this fanfic, some people think it crosses the line and becomes too dark. With this, and BaseBreakingCharacter s, some people just don't care about some of the characters since they are already to doomed to suffer even more.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler: Whenever the students outsmart Monokuma. Yasu hacked into Monokuma's systems in chapter two and almost ended the game almost by themself.]]
** [[spoiler: Hayato using Monokuma's own rules for him to reveal the truth of chapter one. Although Monokuma used this to his benefit, Hayato still caught Monokuma off guard. And, once again, all by himself.]]

* HarsherinHindsight:

** Namita/Miyuki. [[spoiler: Helps that they are actually canon. There were a lot of hints before, especially if you notice how they adress the other and how they were always alone with each other. Plus Miyuki's overprotectiveness. Then chapter four gave us the reveal a lot of fans were waiting for.]]

* CompleteMonster: The mastermind. Everybody hates them, and they have done so many horrible things as soon as the first chapter. [[spoiler: The mastermind gives away the whole mystery of the first case just to make Kazuhiko die earlier to shut him up and make characters close to him like Ayano and Tsukiko feel despair. Oh, and then the mastermind places Kazuhiko's dead body in Ayano's room right afterwards. And this is only in the first chapter!]] And then he gets worse in chapter 2 and 3...and don't even talk about the after trial of the fourth chapter.
** Hideyoshi. [[spoiler: May I need to say more than Akita's backstory and his MonsterClown tendencies? He may not be as bad as Kaneshiro but he is still a monster in his own right.]]
*** And then chapter three happened...yep, he deserves this.
** Kotori. Hiraoka. [[spoiler: Even before the events of chapter four, she was considered bad news. Then its revealed that she engaged in CHILD TRAFFICKING. These traffic victims were also the victims of her experiments. And we don't even want to know all the things she has done to Ayano, let alone Kazuhiko.]]

** Takara. [[spoiler: At first, most of the group found Takara way too creepy to hang out with. Then, when he made a group of friends, ALL of them died within a couple of days together. Four of his friends died and Takara wears Takayuki's jacket in remembrance.]]

And he isn't even a jeweler, even though this isn't the harsh part. He didn't even know he wasn't a jeweler! Everything was hidden by the family that he loved so much. This is what causes his death. Cassius dies for his family that did nothing but lie to him. Damn.]]

* ParanoiaFuel: Oh boy, the author has made many people stay up late, scared.

* Kotori. Hiraoka. [[spoiler: Even before the events of chapter four, she was considered bad news. Then its revealed that she engaged in CHILD TRAFFICKING. These traffic victims were also the victims of her experiments. And we don't even want to know all the things she has done to Ayano, let alone Kazuhiko.]]

** Naoko. [[spoiler: She helps out a lot with investigations and has a cute personality. Too bad she is severely traumatized by the events of the fanfiction.]]

* Kaneshiro doing Kaneshiro [[labelnote: Explanation]] [[spoiler: In a typo, Requiem accidentally said something along the lines of...I don't want to think about what Kaneshiro is doing to Kaneshiro. The rest is history.]] [[/labelnote]]

** Kazuhikoed. [[labelnote: Explaination]] [[spoiler: Whenever a character gets clubbed with a bat, how Kazuhiko killed both Kotori and Akita, some fans say they got Kazuhikoed.]]
** Goddammit Dave [[labelnote: Explaination]] [[spoiler: In chapter 4-5, Dave causes Ayano to get one of her real memories. Before this, Monokuma has this exact same reaction. Fans like making fun of Dave.]]
