* HilariousInHindsight: One story written in 2011 was titled “Crusaders Of The Lost Mark”. Later in 2015, one episode of Season 5 was given [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS5E19CrusadersOfTheLostMark a very familiar title…]]

Loads And Loads Of Characters is no longer a trope

* ShipsThatPassInTheNight: When a series has LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters, with even characters that appeared in one scene having a fandom and a character tag, this is inevitable.

About unintentional subtext and YMMV can't be played with.

* FoeYay: Many protagonist X antagonist shippings out there.
* FanPreferredCouple: Averted, shippers will usually stick to canon if presented with it.

* LesYay: Common in many of the shipping stories.

Interntet Backdraft being dewicked per TRS.

* InternetBackdraft:
** During its peak (around 2011-2013), ''Fanfic/TheConversionBureau'' and its [[RecursiveFanfiction many spin-offs]] had [[BrokenBase divided most of the site]] into two extremely bitter camps (Pro/Anti) and new stories (some of questionable quality, others more praised) were being churned out almost every week, dedicated to either promoting/slandering it. All of these stories had lengthy {{flame war}}s in their comments sections, with the Pro-TCB and Anti-TCB message board groups brutally tearing into each others' throats. But by the time 2014 rolled around however, most of the arguing has died down, with the two sides making a truce with one another. The TCB genre itself hasn't completely died, but its impact on the fandom is a massive one and its still a pretty contentious topic.
** Similarly, the NSFW fic ''FanFic/FiveScoreDividedByFour'' fic inspired a number of RecursiveFiction, to the point where it caused two camps of pro- and anti- ''Five Score'' camps to develop, ultimately resulting in a blanket ban on all new recursive stories in an attempt to keep flame wars from causing problems.

If most people hate the show it wouldn't be successful.

* QualityByPopularVote: Several users think that the quality of a story is directly correlated to its like:dislike ratio.

* QualityByPopularVote: Several users think that the quality of a story is directly correlated to its like:dislike ratio. No one ever seems to consider that [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic the show]] itself likely has more haters than fans, which by their own logic would make that a bad show.

* InternetBackdraft: At one point, ''Fanfic/TheConversionBureau'' and its derivatives were so contentious is practically divided most of the site into two extremely bitter camps (Pro/Anti) and large amounts of works dedicated to promoting/slandering it. All of which had lengthy flame wars in their comments sections. Has died out, but mentioning it can still be problematic though.

* IncestYayShipping: Applecest (Applejack X Big Mac), Sparklecest (Shining Armor), and Princest (Celestia X Luna) tend to be popular, albeit appearing in clop rather than legitimate romance. Sparklecest in particular tends to be popular enough to the point where more than half the fics involve either Cadance being okay with it, or Shining cheating on Cadance with Twilight (the other half either taking place when Cadance wasn't babysitting Twilight yet, or omitting Cadance altogether).
