* FlameBait: Inadvertent example from the "faith in games" debacle: Asserting that science sometimes has to rely on hypotheses that haven't been fully proven is fine. Expressing that in the form "science is based on faith" might be seen as confusing and is somewhat inflammatory given the many connotations and associations of the word faith.

That is not what that trope means.

* HollywoodScience: Religion in Game Pt. 2 implied that faith (in basic premises) is required in science. Commenters were quick to point out that the scientific method, with it's emphasis on empiricism and the ability to recreate evidence, is pretty much diametrically opposed to accepting things on faith alone (even if in practice there isn't time to retest everything personally).
** Amusingly, they made a followup video, God Does Not Play Dice, which basically boiled down to explaining exactly why they were wrong as though it were evidence that they were right. They gave several examples of postulates that had to be assumed to make other ideas work as examples of faith... and then immediately showed how they were overturned when proven false. They also randomly jump between the different definitions of the word 'faith as if they were all the same concept; they are not.

Removing wick to Did Not Do The Research per rename at TRS.

* DidNotDoTheResearch: Despite saying they've played the game, many of their gripes with VideoGame/FalloutNewVegas (in the Amnesia and Story Structure episode) are based on false premises. They claim that the character should have perks and gear based on who they used to be, before they got amnesia. This would be an excellent suggestion, if not for three things: 1) The tutorial consists of a doctor checking to make sure you don't have amnesia (you don't), 2) during which time you do a psych evaluation (which determines your main skills) and give him your family history (in the form of perks based on who you are). 3) After the tutorial, you can talk to the same doctor to receive your pre-head wound inventory, including a note on your last job and some gear based off your skills.
** They did note that they hadn't played the game that much, probably no longer then a couple hours judging by some of the implications in the "how to play like a game developer" episode, but is still fairly egregious since they used it as an example of amnesia when it's clearly stated your character didn't suffer from it.
** They also say that the game lacks a ThreeActStructure when it does: Finding Benny, prepping for the upcoming battle and the Battle for Hoover Dam.
*** Due to the nonlinear nature of the game it is possible to do those things out of order so they atleast have an excuse for that, the parts they complained about in the amnesia episode are inexcusable since that is literally the first scene in the game after you are shot in the head.

** In the episode on Propaganda they very clearly tried to not do this, giving the names of some particularly heinous games but not linking them and encouraging people not to go looking, they didn't want to give these people the hits.

* DidNotDoTheResearch: Despite saying they've played the game, many of their gripes with FalloutNewVegas (in the Amnesia and Story Structure episode) are based on false premises. They claim that the character should have perks and gear based on who they used to be, before they got amnesia.
