* FaceOfTheBand: Elio. The other guys are still known in Italy but absolutely not at the same extent. It helps that he later became one of the judges in the Italian edition of [[Series/TheXFactor X-Factor]].

* TearJerker: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMcY8CwD2hY Arrivedorci]]" ("Good Bye" mispelled) the last song of the band. That's the last song of the band after ''38 years'' of activity. It's made like a CreditsMontage, showing pictures and clips from the band's past. The commotion for those who literally grew and became adult or old listening to the Elio e le Storie Tese can't be overstated.

** This is somewhat both Harsher and Hilarious. In their 2003 album ''Cicciput'' there was a song titled "Litfiba tornate insieme" ("Litfiba, Come Back Together") which jokingly asked the two founding members of Litfiba (a famous Italian rock band) to make peace and give an end to the band's hiatus. The funny thing is, in 2009 the two guys actually went through it and brought Litfiba back, and they show no sign of disbanding to this day. However, in 2017 [=EeLST=] announced their retirement seemingly for real... Several fans joked that Litfiba should write "[=EeLST=] tornate insieme".
** The band coming last during Sanremo 2018 hits somehow harder if one remembers that, when they placed second during Sanremo 1996, more than a few people downright accused the festival to have ''rigged'' the result so that they wouldn't win first place.

* ContractualObligationProject: ''The Los Sri Lanka Parakramabahu Brothers Featuring Elio e le Storie Tese''. Since they were forced to make it, they made it shitty on purpose. See StylisticSuck on the main page.
* TheDanza: Mangoni's real name is Luca Mangoni. Also, a couple of early members used their real, funny-sounding surnames (Cortellino and Zuffellato) as nicknames.

* HeAlsoDid: Elio and Faso dubbed the Italian version of ''WesternAnimation/BeavisAndButthead'' for a while. [=EelST=] also dubbed ''WesternAnimation/TerkelInTrouble'' and Elio voiced the titular alien in ''{{Film/Paul}}''. This is just the tip of the iceberg however.

* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: during their 1998 USA tour they recorded four short episodes of a miniseries called "Vite bruciacchiate" ("Singed Lives"), about their fictional discovery of the lost tapes of a 1940s band who "invented" many musical genres that were born only decades later. This miniseries was broadcasted only once on the Italian state television, two years later, late at night and without any advertising. Since it was never reprinted in any format, it can only be found on old VHS tapes or on some [=P2P=] servers.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sTwTRSHaSE Servi della gleba]]" has several elements that remind of Music/{{Toto}}'s "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JB1c4_4tbxo Pamela]]", among them the refrain and the guitar solo.

* EarWorm: "La terra dei cachi" ("Persimmon Land") placed second at the 1996 Sanremo Music Festival and was immediately picked up by the whole country. The band somewhat acknowledged this, saying that they will retire after 2017. (And then pushed the date forward to 2018, another move that alienated some fans.)
