In this ending, Mikhail seals the flower in another dimension and it's stated and shown in Drakengard 1 the Grotesque Queen comes from another dimension. It's also assumed the giant floating babies are all the Intoner's babies from all their sexual escapades. One thing that disproves this theory is the endings aren't connected together and Drakengard 1 continues from Ending A instead of Ending D.]]

* Hilarious In Hindsight: Four dislikes Decadus' TooKinkyToTorture fetish became this when years later, Four's voice actress, Creator/CristinaValenzuela, would play Darkness in ''LightNovel/KonoSuba'', who is essentially a female Decadus in personality.

** Is Cent genuinely loyal to Two in Branch A and only joins Zero because he feels he has to, or does he possibly manipulate Zero into performing a MercyKill on Two? The latter is supported by the fact that Cent kidnaps Mihkail but causes the dragon no harm, and claims to be working under Two's orders, which is a lie since she's not able to truly talk. Route B raises it further; [[spoiler:does he join with the crazed Two solely on his love for her, or is it possibly because he feels has no choice?]]

* HilariousInHindsight: A OneWomanArmy and her dragon has become this especially during the final two episodes of ''Series/GameOfThrones.''

* ToughActToFollow: The game is frequently regarded as this to ''VideoGame/NieR'', which was well-regarded by the series' cult following for its plot, characters and music. Coming after that and even being warned that it wouldn't be like ''[=NieR=]'' many found it to be a much lesser experience in comparison. Even compared to ''Drakengard 1'', the game has a tough act to follow since while being closer in themes to said game, its more silly and colorful.

* EightPointEight: Most reviewers gave the game scores in the [[SoOkayItsAverage average to above average range]].[[Website/IGN64 IGN]] though? 4/10. A fairly large number of players were upset at this as it was clear the reviewers did not fully play the various routes.

** Did Octa betray Three because she lost interest in having sex with him or because he was disturbed by her human experimentation? When meeting Three he cites the latter as the reason but she says he's lying and just following his libido. Both may have influenced his decision.
* AntiClimaxBoss: [[spoiler:One, at the end of Branch C]]. Unlike the fight against Two in the previous verse and the fight immediately prior to this one, you aren't fighting on even ground at all, due to the boss having a pitifully weak weapon. The only real issue the fight has is [[spoiler:One being much stronger than you in Intoner Mode, which she only activates when you do,]] and can be avoided entirely.

** Four's boss battle is annoying and difficult because you have to hit and destroy four disks while being shot at. No big deal for the first one, but after the first, all of them start moving and throwing green shards at you, making it difficult to hit it. Then you beat that and have to give chase and hit a very small target while large green SwordBeam are thrown at you and make you have to dodge.

** If you don't like Dito, then you'll probably be happy that [[spoiler:in Route B, Cent kills him.]]

* ToughActToFollow: The game is frequently regarded as this to ''VideoGame/NieR'', which was well-regarded by the series' cult following for its plot, characters and music. Coming after that and even being warned that it wouldn't be like ''[=NieR=]'' many found it to be a much lesser experience in comparison.

Making matters worse is that you are a OneHitPointWonder during all this.

* FetishFuel: All of the intoners seem to have been designed to deliberately cater to specific fetishes. This even extends to their respective disciples (their designated romantic partners), who create distinct fetish pairings when alongside their intoner ([[{{Shotacon}} a sexy older woman with a petite younger boy for Five and Dito]], [[CorruptTheCutie a virtuous young girl and a rugged older man for Four and Decadus]], [[BastardGirlfriend a domineering woman with a harem of submissive men for Zero and her captured disciples]], etc). The fact that the various HiddenDepths they all display tend to ''directly'' subvert the image associated with the fetish (Dito is a foul-mouthed scumbag, Four's virtuousness is largely a put-on and Decadus is the sub in their dynamic, absolutely none of the men in Zero's harem have any devotion to her at all and betray her at the first opportunity, etc) further suggests that this was intentional.

* EightPointEight: The average professional reviews gave the game gave it a fun, but okay overall score. [[Website/IGN64 IGN]] though? 4/10. Cue the InternetBackdraft.

* CrossesTheLineTwice: As is the case for games in the ''Drakengard'' series, the entire plot could be accused of doing this. You play as an excessively foul-mouthed woman with no apparent positive qualities to speak of who violently tears her way through the armies of every human settlement in existence in order to brutally murder her more sympathetic-seeming younger sisters, the sole individuals maintaining order in the world, seemingly motivated by nothing more than a desire for power. After killing each sister, she forcefully abducts their male lovers as her own and makes them assist her in continuing her slaughterfest. While the story eventually reveals that the feud between Zero and her sisters isn't as black and white as it seems, the sheer absurdity of the game's pitch black content and the [[DenserAndWackier rather blasé way in which it is all presented]] makes it laugh-out-loud hilarious from the start.

* AwesomeMusic: Keiichi Okabe does a wonderful job with the very well-received score, though the following tracks stand out:

* LoveItOrHateIt: It's pretty damn divisive. Most will praise the soundtrack, and admit that the game is at least interesting in some ways, but almost everything else from the plot, characters, gameplay, and general writing direction compared to the rest of the series is very debated.

* DemonicSpiders: Archers. While weak enough to where a single hit can kill them, their range and very precise accuracy makes them a nightmare when you fight them, mainly because they hide behind protection and let the other units fight you.

* FakeDifficulty: The Accord Request Missions run on these full stop. Collect three books? Not a problem. Have to kill DemonicSpiders to get them? Frustrating but doable. Only have 40 seconds to do so? Yeah.....
* HollywoodPudgy: Dito's opinion on Five.

** If you don't like Dito, then you'll probably be happy that [[spoiler: in Route B, Cent kills him.]]
