** [[EvilLuddite Retro-Savages]] are crazy backwoods fanatics that believe technology and the government are the cause of the ZombieApocalypse and will harass and kill people who pass through their territory without surrendering their gadgets, including things that the survivors might need to live such as vehicles or guns. People who refuse to submit to their interpretation of God's will are typically tied to trees and fed to zombies or executed. In other words, they're evil Amish folks.
** [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Death & Terror Cults]] are universally villainous and evil factions that practice things like human sacrifice and worship a dark god of death named Brulyx. As such they are almost always the BigBad of any given campaign (or at least a major threat) that the survivor group must stop. The [[BigGood Road Reapers]] consider them all to be hated enemies and virtually everyone wants to see them destroyed.

** Bug Boys, Worm Meat and Sewer Crawlers are even worse. Introduced in the ''Dark Places'' sourcebook these zombie variants are a pain to deal with simply because there are so few ways to reliably kill them without exposing the survivors to a high amount of risk. Engaging them in direct melee is straight out unless the players want to deal with some really nasty [[PoisonousPerson insect infestations, disease, infection and other blights]] that can cripple or even outright kill their character if left untreated. The game itself recommends going in with ranged weapons, but this is hardly any better as about 90% of the ranged weapons in the game make a ton of noise which will quickly bring down a horde on the group the minute they start shooting. Hitting them with a [[BurnTheUndead molotov or flamethrower]] ''might'' work... but that method of attack [[StuffBlowingUp often carries its own separate set of dangers.]] Worse still, they are much more common in humid environments so any campaign set in the southern US or Mexico will likely involve the players constantly dealing with these guys throughout its duration.

** One sourcebook on urban settlements in cities discusses how to set up various "pest farms" as a source of renewable food and goes into detail talking about things such as breeding rats and pigeons and the many exotic flavors of insects and what kind of dishes they can be added to. After reading ''that'' section [[ReducedToRatburgers hunger probably won't seem]] [[IAteWhat like much of an issue anymore...]]

** The game also gets pretty descriptive when discussing how to treat wounds and injuries. Zombie bites and infections, for example, have several stages of worsening condition to the point where permanent scaring and other crippling handicaps may apply even after the injury is tended to. Instructions for treating these ailments can get pretty gross with passages explaining in detail how decayed tissue must be drained from the wound and properly cleaned out among other disgusting things.

* CreatorsPet: Similar to the Glitter Boys that came before them the Road Reapers seem to have become the unofficial face of Dead Reign for better or worse. It wasn't long before they even got their own sourcebook that adds very little to the game beyond some new Road Reaper lore that most non-Reaper characters will likely not care about. The other O.C.C.s still occasionally appear in mechanics and artwork but several players are starting to get seriously annoyed at how often the Reapers steal the spotlight from the other factions.

* GoddamnBats: Slouchers and Crawlers, the two most basic types of zombie. Not only do they take a surprising amount of effort to put down for such a common enemy, but the zombie moan mechanic means that undead reinforcements are coming the second they find you. So either you take them out quick or run away and hope to escape before getting surrounded. When a zombie game has you constantly fleeing from the common shamblers you know it isn't going to be a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination.
