* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments:
** The scene between the Spruces and Ben Whitemoon at the start of "Old Chief Wood'nhead", where Ben leaves his tribal treasures with the Spruces as collateral for their debts. Even more so when Ben greets the Chief as if greeting an old friend, and Martha profusely thanks Ben for proving her pessimism wrong. This makes what happens to the Spruces all the more sad.
** In a way, Chief Wood'nhead killing Sam and his buddies after they murdered the Spruces in cold blood and stole Ben’s tribal jewels. The Chief was avenging the people who'd taken care of him for years and repaying the kindness of a man who considered him a part of the Spruce clan.
** Ben finding the treasures returned, then rushing to the Spruces’ to find the Chief with Sam’s scalp in hand and his warpaint freshly done up in Sam’s blood. Understanding what happened, he has this to say:
-->'''Ben:''' ...now... may your spirit rest, old warrior.
** A tiny one in the raft; when Randy tries to dive in after Rachel to save her, Deke instinctively grabs him to keep his best friend from dying as well. Aww, he does care.

[=McCallany=] pointed out that he was a blue-eyed White guy of Irish ancestry and could not play a Native American character. The producer said it would be fine if he wore make-up and a wig, and they would write him off as being of mixed-race. [[SpecialEffectsFailure The results leave a lot to be desired]].

* CrossesTheLineTwice: Annie killing a hapless hitchhiker? Shocking. Annie being chased by hitchhiker who is now a zombie? Terrifying. Annie repeatedly trying to escape? Thrilling. Annie taking the extra effort to repeatedly ram her car into said zombie over and over to try to keep it from coming back while it gets ever more and more mangled with each attempt? Hilarious.

** '''Instead:''' She drives while distracted.
** '''You'd Expect:''' Her to stay at the scene and tell the investigators what she saw.
