* DiagnosedByTheAudience: There's a running gag of people wondering if Dean's brain damaged or mentally challenged. Or, in his dad's words, "R-E-tarded". Or "half a one", according to Dave.

* AluminumChristmasTrees: In the episode ''Trouble in the Middle East'', a Middle Eastern king steals all the Impalavision consoles in America in order to [[spoiler:drive up demand of them for Christmas and "Jew Christmas", then resell them in discount stores]]. U.S. intelligence (and Dave, initially) mistakenly believes that he wants to link them together to build a military super computer. This is a reference to a real-world urban legend that Saddam Hussein imported a bunch of [=PlayStation=] 2s to do the same thing, which was why there was a shortage of them. There's really no proof that it happened (even the importing of them can't be corroborated), but there WAS a massive shortage of the consoles right after launch...

1. Removing Chris Chan discussion due to ROCEJ. 2. 20 year limit has not been met yet. Also, use "sexual orientation" or "sexuality" instead of "sexual preference", because sexual orientation is not a choice.

** Todd's inspiration from [[Webcomic/{{Sonichu}} Chris-Chan]] and his heavily implied [[OedipusComplex incestuous relationship]] with his mother become even more uncomfortable to watch when news came out that the real life Chris-chan outright raped his mother (who has dementia and was obviously unable to consent).
* HilariousInHindsight: Todd's character. He is overweight, is sexually depraved enough to do things to dolls, was revealed by his brother to have a form of autism, and the final episode had him attempting (and failing) to pitch a ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'' {{Expy}}. It's like they took [[Webcomic/{{Sonichu}} Chris-Chan's]] life and put it on the screen.

* ValuesDissonance: The show mostly takes jabs at race, gender, mentality and sexual preference. A ''lot'' of the humor would ''not'' fly today.

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: Literally nobody in this show can be considered a redeemable human being
and the side characters are just as evil which while pretty funny gets old and too harsh too quickly. Jerry and Black Steve are somehow the nicest characters in the series and even they can be pretty unlikable. It makes sense in hindsight when Adam de la Peña said his favorite show in an Reddit AMA was LiveAction/ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhilealdephia and the writing reflects that ideology too well.
